Pali
Anyone else seen this? I thought it was amazing. Deeply moving, very touching, very emotional movie that does a better job of making you care for the characters in it than any I've seen recently. Opinions? Ex-D&Der
Very strong film. One of the better new movies I've seen in a while.
Dead Voodoo Doll
IMO it's a good movie. I don't have any complaints for I feel the director wanted to prove a point and didn't shy away from trying to prove it. I fully understand the point the movie was trying to make and I feel it made it beautifully. Man vs. Child IMO, the adult world vs. the young world. A little disclaimer for those who wish to take their wives or girlfriends. I will warn those who go to see it that it is harsh. It is blunt and brutal, probably not anything to worry about with the crew that lurks here, but the theatre was almost all couples and I saw quite a few women who were disturbed by the imagery, including my fiance. It is my fault I didn't do a little more research in the content. For my life and how I live it, I see the difference between the two worlds everyday. For my fiance however, it's completely different, so I try and accomodate her wishes.
Pali
A good point... it very much deserves the R rating that it has. It's not just a bunch of swearwords that earned it (in fact, while swearing is present, there's a lot less than in most American R-rated movies), there's plenty of creepiness and a fair bit of blood. Ex-D&Der
I left my wife home. It's very violent. Not for children. N.b. I think it's about obedience versus imagination.
