KRins
My girlfriend is out of town and I think I just dislocated my elbow. Anyone know what I should do? Don't say hospital. No insurance and no money.
J.Twendrist
See... now thats not healthy. It is possible to pop a joint back into place, but if you don't know what you are doing I would strongly suggest not trying. I hate to say it, but the doctor is probably your best bet. Trying to pop it back in without knowing how can mess it up worse.
J.Twendrist
Make sure it's really dislocated. It could be a really bad sprain.
KRins
I kinda figured that... oh well I'll hopefully see you guys after some morphine. It's just kinda hanging there and I can't move it at all.
EyeSeeU
Did it look like Drew Brees's elbow in the Pro Bowl game? If so its definately dislocated. hope you get it fixed and all sorry for your pain.
KRins
Let it be known that arm is now fully functioning again, albeit with a great deal of burning, horrific, life-altering pain. It was dislocated, but apparently my next door neighbor is a nurse practictioner (sp?). She looked at it for a while, rolled up a towel, told me to bite down on it, and with some very ninja-esque quickness and precision popped it back in. She sent me home with a fist full of vicodin and now I'm gonna take a week and a half nap. Kinda makes me wanna roll up some melee or rogue class and play it sans two handed, shield block, dual wield. Would I get owned hard? Yeah most definately. Would I have lots of fun? Probably not. elfdude
take it easy on that elbow, make sure you let it heal for a long long time. I dislocated my shoulder last summer and I didn't take it easy on it and I dislocated two other times after that and its just finally getting better. WarriorCleric
Two post in this thread I stand behind 100%: J.Twendrist's and Elfdude's. That's some sound advice they have given. I'm sure the greased weasel will agree, if not from personal experience but from watching it happen, dislocated elbows suck hard man. I had a big injurey on the shoulder and now I'm good for a few dislocations there a year, all because I didn't give it enough time to recover the first time, and I tend not to give it enough one each one there after. Sometimes you love your hobbies more than they love you back. But the good news is, if it does happen again, it won't hurt nearly as much, I for instance only cry for a couple of hours after each one, instead of a couple of days. But yeah, how did it happen?
