Fiere
I was just looking at the bard skill list...someone want to help me remember why in the heck you would ever use a staff without two handed? Isn't your skill quite a bit worse without it, thus probably negating the defensiveness of the weapon? I think there's a reason, but I can't remember, and it pisses me off every time I see that because it just feels so useless.
Pali
Staffs are the only 2 handed weapons you don't need two handed for. Else it'd be useless for mages.

Chromatic
"To log on for 20 minutes or not to log on, that is the question... whether 'tis nobler of the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous boredom, or to take arms against a sea of qrace wannabes, and by opposing, end them." Shakespeare for level 30s Reply With Quote Nice... I think it's just a bit sad that the sudden interest is due to this RP plot that none of them will truly be able to take part in. I've seen a few constants around 30, and a number of them in the shout outs... wouldn't surprise me if we suddenly end up having a batch of new demons/undeads on their way up soon. Pali
Good lord! I personally always like having qraces around. It keeps things interesting, and keeps FL a very dark and violent place.
Archbishop Monk
Doesn't everyone? I like them too, I just don't find 9 or so qrace wannabee's sitting at 30 figuring pk will help their chances very fun. Although, when they RP, such as some have been doing, it's much more interesting.

Fiere
I myself don't have the patience/time it takes to sit around thirty for that long, but I do quite enjoy testing them out on my way up the ranks. For instance, Tutezbah is the only one of late who has actually managed to kill me, so I wasn't surprised when he got undead.

corpsestomp
It means you don't actually have to have the two handed skill to use them effectively. Try using a polearm with and without two handed, you'll notice a huge difference.
Pali
What does that mean exactly? A warrior (who has two handed) using a two-handed spear will have a proficiency on that weapon based on his skill at spear, and his skill at two handed. That's why when a ninja uses a two-handed spear, it's pretty much useless, despite him having the spear skill, because his prof at 2-handed is 0. Staffs, however, are the only weapon type this does not apply to. You can use a staff according to your proficiency in staff, not staff as well as two handed.
