Anyone read this book? I just picked it up today and started reading, and it's fantastic. Better than I've read in quite a while. It's written in the vein of Dracula, (i.e. letters, journals and things, in the first person), which is quite difficult to do well. It also seems to be shaping up to be a lot like it in storyline, although it's about a close descendant of his in world war one, rather than the real thing. Like I said, it's quite a lot like the original, but different enough to be compelling. I read Dracula quite a while ago, but from what I remember this book moves a lot faster, which is nice. One of the main reasons I like it so much, I think, is that these days it's hard to find a good book that doesn't contain smut to "enhance" the flavor, or whatever. Especially one with a love story in it. At the same time, it's dark, creepy and thus thrilling to read. I know I'm gushing here, but it's just nice to read a book like that which isn't about a thirteen year old kid.
