I just couldn't deal with the massive influx of rangers and druids. I like playing classes, or at least races, noone else plays. It's what keeps me coming back over and over. My new project has taken all of my attention away, and I don't think I'll ever be the same (going back to a wolf after this would be interesting, I might try something else later.) Anyways, thanks to all who interacted with her and 'tried' to learn her language.
Deykari
Never interacted with you but heard many, many good things about you. Good luck with your next. Dey
goldbond
dang. i sort of knew she wouldnt be coming back again on a regular basis, but wasnt sure if she was actually deleted some time ago or not. this character was the bizzomb. a couple of my characters a while back used her to just say what they wanted, since she didnt "speak" the most liberating thing about this character was freeing others to rattle off their prospective RP to her without fear of the RP being brushed off or the pressure to get the recipient to respond to the RP in depth. she was like the perfect enabler, lol. and of course the technical skill behind her was pretty obvious. sorry the influx of rangers a while back jaded you on this project. Balgashang
Bleh, had been waiting expectantly to see her again, after having a lengthy rp session with her around the high 30's, low forties, was a great char

Fiere
Yeah, there's high points, but they never quite die off.
Mudder
When I decide that there are too many others of my class, I tend to find reasons to kill all of them. The non-dedicated players tend to shelve a character once they get beat up a lot. I figure i'll let the dedicated ones stay, make the others shelve. That way the class isn't overpopulated at 50. Calron
Now what would we do without the supreme equalizer...

That way the class isn't overpopulated at 50.[/quote'] Let me understand,,, At 50 you find too many young ones of your class/race and you start killing them at 42 or when in range because you don't care for them? Do others do this as well? Kind of sucks if you work your tail off just to get up in that range ( I am still learning where to hunt, what to hunt, and trying to lead a hunt or two). Doing the best you can not to piss anyone off so that you can get up to a level rank, even then at equal rank you normally start pinn with severe equipment deficiencies unless you are really good and have done it several times. Why? You can't lead into Winter/Discord a) you dont know the traps, pitfalls you dont have the equipment to stand up to the damage they deal etc... Is it non-dedicated players that shelve? Personally, I would never shelve because I don't have the time to restart a new character but it seems like the few folks I saw that were as new as me (it's kind of obvious ), I no longer see and I wonder why.... one inparticular was killed in cc by his own clan mate. Never saw him again after that incident. I think it benefits everyone when new players come in and diversifies the playerbase, it is very easy to roll over them, but as mudder says makes them non-dedicated in a hurry leaving you with the few hardcore gamers that ya have. Sorry, kind of struck a nerve as a newb who is just trying like hell to reach his/her pinn.
Questioner
Yes. It does suck for the new players. Especially to those who haven't really played a mud. First off, getting to rank thirty is a pain in the arse just because you don't know the basics. It took me awhile to learn them, even with Calron's help/annoyance. Once you can get to pinn with relative know-how, the next step is learning the lands well enough not to get screwed over every time you go hunting and some syndicate/undead/demon comes knocking for you (basically, learn to survive). The third step is to learn to get the right equipment, saves, ac, against which classes you will have trouble against/fight against. The last step is to learn to pk, which may or may not come to you. It depends entirely on the person's common sense, key stroke quickness, level of adaptability, and sheer guts.
Pali
It also depends a lot on experience.
