Moderate Tier

I still say the Moderate Tier, since they're not allowed a quest anything should have xp penalties removed from mob deaths all together.

I grow weary of dying because I'm tired and tried to squeeze time into my character to make pinnacle before summer gets here. I take the Moderate tier because I lack time. It's always annoyed the piss out of me that I die and can't get resurrected. I've had ONE resurrection in the past five years. Resurrections used to be easy to come by. As an evil you can't even get 'em. It's like "Here, bend over. You died and lost a life, you can't hold many rares, but we're going to drill it to you anyways!".

Pardon my pissiness, but I am just disgusted with completing five quests and then dying to see that I have lost what I gained and then some. No offense, but part of the purpose of the Moderate Tier is to keep setbacks from being so insanely time consuming. It just seems logical to stop them from taking XP penalties. I'm hanging my character up until summer. I've let my wife have the administrator account on the computer and had her change the password. She was more than happy to remove Gmud from the files. I've relegated my account down to a regular file and can't download anything.

Peace, I'm out until summer. I don't need anymore stress right now.

...seriously, dude? You're dying to mobs enough that it's pissing you off and making you want to quit?

Have you gotten worse somehow?!

O.O

Hehehe...

I dunno. FL is already a billion times more newbie friendly now than it ever was when I started playing.

Hmm... So you're saying that you don't have time for, like, ten to fifteen minutes extra hunting because you died due to own mistake?

I second J.Twendrist. By these days you propably wont get perma-banned if you yell "**** you Virigoth!" in CC of Val Miran.

Moderate is a PK tier, I thought. Mobdeaths don't really fit into that, I thought. I die to mobs enough to wish that the penalties were removed, trust me. However, I don't see what that has to do with a PK tier. Maybe make adventurers not lose exp on a mobdeath? Then the learning class gives the learning-level benefit?

Just my two cents.

Try the adventurer perk...

If the adventurer perk is something that does that for me, I will gladly take take that on every character from now on.

Now, for anyone who wants to say "newbie friendly" or finds it easier to deny my arguments with "Valek obviously sucks" arguments, let's look at it this way:

We've had one or two newbs show up lately and stick around? The Moderate Tier is mostly used by vets who don't have time to play the game. I have many aspects to my life now that detract even when I'm trying to play. I'm not someone who ignores his wife and kid when I'm playing. I will walk away from the computer to get a juice or look away to hold a conversation with my wife because it lets her know I'm listening.

Did it start as an alternate PK Tier? Yes. To make things easier for newbies and to lower the learning curve. However, it appealed to us who wanted to play on a more casual level and didn't want to deal with spending a half hour getting a basic set of equipment and another hour trying to get back a super set so we could be more competitive. Now we don't have to worry about having uber gear. We can get "decent" gear and just play the damn game. Which is nice.

However, if it's come to the point where there is no more room for concessions, so be it. I have found a way to curb my FL cravings while school is in session by relinquishing control of the computer administrator account to my wife. I just hope I don't get a virus from her downloading anything on that level. No hard feelings, I just don't feel like I get taken all that seriously because of my bias. I will remind you we all have a bias somewhere. I just happen to be looking for something small to make the leveling process less frustrating.

I have many aspects to my life now that detract even when I'm trying to play.

Dude, you're not alone here. At least you as well know how head blowing it is, when you're in PK-situation and you hear constant yelling from kitchen how the water is boiling, how the water has boiled, how the tea is in cup and you should take the bags out when timer beeps, how the tea is ready, how the tea is getting cold... And after all that plus losing the match, all you have is a cup of cold tea.

LOL

I could hear everything! love it man.

By mob death you mean a mindless creature killed you?

Surely you are aware of how to change which mindless creature is hunting you?

Accidents will occur. And while I hate to disagree with you rev, the moderate tier will not prepare players for the ruthless game if we cover the characters in bubble wrap. There needs to be atleast a "moderate" risk. Good luck and let me know if I can help, since I almost always rank alone, I know a few tricks.

I made a suggestion awhile ago about removing either (made like that so this time people will understand) the xp loss OR the con loss on mobdeath. And was shot down. I understand your pain, sometimes it's hard to keep plugging away with a character you love when you have 30k xp tnl and you're getting either 1k a quest or barely killing a mob that gives you 500xp. (This is why I always feel compelled to play Rangers)

So, I feel your pain, and it sucks, but I doubt the system is going to change.

Hahahaha. Thats why I don't play unless the woman is gone.

the point is though...if your dieing to mob's then you NEED to take longer to level bfore you get to 50 and are DESTROYED by players.

Yes, because being tired and taking one step in the wrong direction to flee into six more rooms (Yes, I walked back ghosted to see that I had in fact fled in a nearly straight line for six rooms over eight flees) into aggro mobs when I was at half my HP, means I need to take longer to get to 50.

Besides, we need mobs that chase faster if we're going to follow that line of logic.

Why just faster chasing mobs, mobs that GATE after you!

It happens to us all. Imagine sitting in a room where one direction is the aggro mobs, let's say east, and up, down, west, north, and south are not aggro mobs.

I've fled east countless times ending in a few select words escaping from my mouth about 'how fscking' absurd it was that I just had to flee east to my death.

LMAO! Mobs that GATE AND GROPE! I'm channeling my inner Chayesh. WHEEE!

Great...

In our next chapter Red Wight Gates after < character >, it's called:

Curse of the Red Wight

help > Curse of the Red Wight

Curse of the Red Wight > Is a curse placed upon characters for wishing for deadlier and faster mobs. This curse has nothing to do with Liadon's n00b-ness.

wait wait wait..

So let me get this straight. You were at a gauntlet, below your pinnacle, and died horribly suffering xp penalty?

Some places should be tread only with the greatest care and at your pinnacle or with allies.
