Yeah, wtf anyway, Valek. I haven't died to a mob since 2004.
Moderate Tier
wait wait wait..
So let me get this straight. You were at a gauntlet, below your pinnacle, and died horribly suffering xp penalty?
Some places should be tread only with the greatest care and at your pinnacle or with allies.
lol...umm...sure. I guess I could see being NEAR the Khadar Faeries as a gauntlet. Haha...
Grim! I will slap you so hard you'll start playing an accordian for an instrument and take up yodeling. ![]()
the xp loss OR the con loss on mobdeath.
No con loss on mobdeath until 15-20 would be amazing for new players.
I ran in to at least 7 different situations that killed me instantly before level 15 just while exploring, and felt like deleting and recreating, or just giving up completely, knowing that I'd used up over 10% of my character's life without actually accomplishing anything.
It's not like it would benefit anyone other than someone completely new to the game anyways..
You all do know that maybe 10% of the playerbase, MAYBE, condies, right?
We've already removed the exp loss from mobdeaths pre-30... why not extend the protection to including con loss?
You all do know that maybe 10% of the playerbase' date=' MAYBE, condies, right?[/quote']
To people like me that come from muds where you die 2-3 times a day, and see 2-3 condeath/farewell threads per page on the forum, it probably doesn't feel that way.
I would like to see the penalty for mob death decreased for all players. Not eliminated mind you, but perhaps controlled by the number of characters online when the death occurs. Something like;
< 5 players on = no penalty for mob death
< 10 players on = 50% reduction to the current penalty
< 15 players on = 25% reduction to the current penalty
The only trouble is, it is seldom these days that we see 15+ players logged in. But as was stated earlier in this thread, a change like this would only help new players it would not make elite players stronger. A change like this should not be restricted to the Moderate teir in my opinion.
