brsingr
as i was continually rolling yesterday, i though "wait, i have events/triggers" so i set up a trigger to roll every time a number below 55 comes. now, this may take a while, but you dont have to keep rolling. just leave it, and check every 5 mins, and you should have the number you wanted, or more, unless of course you wanted

Warpnow
Ya, there is a muschlient script posted on the unofficial forum whic if you install lets you set the minimum roll through a command, as well turn it on and off with commands. Sirax
Before I became aware of stat rollers, I did it each time manually still cant think how I had the patience for it. Now I play and a sound file is produced when the required roll has been met, ah the wonders of advancement.
random_clown
The stat roller I made for Zmud when I started here on FL a few months ago served a few purposes... Since I didn't know the max rolls, I made it so that it will search for the highest rolls...basically it will stop each time either A) your goal ammount is rolled or a roll higher than the highest rolled so far. It feels out the highest roll for you, and of course as any roller shoud, it does the rolling.
Balgashang
I have gmud, have had it for about a year or two now, and for the first time this week I just started playing around with triggers, for training etc. I was wondering, HOW would you make a trigger for rolling on Gmud? When I click on triggers, it sets it up for when I type something, i.e. dis then it has the text to output to the mud, I'll have disarm (then I hit enter) and put get 1. I've very computer illiterate, its amazing I can mud at all heh. But with my brief experiance playing with triggers, I have literally no clue how I would set one up for rolling. If anyone has the time and inclination enough to reply with a sample of what I need to type, I would be MUCH obligied, or at least with instructions on how to set one up. I don't understand how to set up my own prompts either, I use one somebody sent one of my old old characters when I asked on the newbie channel, have it saved on notepad and just copy paste, btw, does anyone remember the sticky I think it was on prompts from the forum before Virigoth and them left? I think my fav might actually have been the one Beherns uses that was my favorite prompt, my current one is pretty decent though. Anyways, thanks guys to any that answer this. Chayesh
GMUD has a pretty good help section about how to set triggers. And my mort prompts usually look like this: < %h/%H > < %m/%M > < %v/%V > < %t:00 > < %g > < %XTNL >
Fiere
the triggers on gmud work like so: not the text you type, but text that comes in, for example, if you want to pick up your weapon when you are disarm, do a trigger that has 'disarms you', then for the outgoing text, pick up whatever, enter, wield whatever. Hope that helps.
Chayesh
Right, Fiere. So you set up a response trigger that activates on the output text of the rolling sequence and tell it to roll again if not a certain number.
wolfeman
Rolling triggers for gmud would look something like this: line. . .[1 roll line. . .[2 roll line. . .[3 roll line. . .[4 roll Then you'd make similar triggers for fifty through the last number you don't want. Tantangel
GMud blows at times, get MUSHCLIENT, it's one of the better ones. GMud actually takes a while to set up triggers for rolling and is annoying. Mattamue set up the roller with a help on how to set it into your Mushclient and it tells you how to get it to roll, how to turn it off and how to set a max for it. GMud you go to triggers and just: [23] <- That's your trigger. roll <- That's your output. [24] <- That's your trigger. roll <- That's your output. Basically you do that for every number between like 20 and 50 and for each one you want to have 'roll' in the output so that when the number hits, it'll roll for a better number. You can make the max number higher than 50 if you want, depending on what race you're rolling for and what number you want. For example if you're aiming for a 53 on a Human, you want to put triggers up to 52, that way it'll roll if it lands on 52, but stop on 53. The thing is with GMud you have to disable each trigger (I always just deleted mine when I used GMud my first two years), and then put your stats in. If you don't and you add points without turning them off, it'll start rolling again because it's doing what you told it to do, roll until it has a number better than 52. So turn it off and then distribute, otherwise you're gonna be rolling again.

I agree with Tant only as far as rolling on Gmud. I can't get this setup to work on gmud, so I just went ahead and did the [10] roll [11] roll ... [50] sound trigger with no command ... [56] sound trigger with no command No need to delete, just make a new trigger set and change off it when you get a roll. So I have one trigger set called 'rolling' and then one for each of my characters WC

wolfeman
You think his is long? No it isn't, mine is long: %n%P%C[Hp %h/%H] [Mp %m/%M] [Mv %v/%V] [%t00 hours] [Exp %X] [Gold %g] And that's with the color taken out. I would also mention what gets taken out at 50, but I've never been in that position. . .
