shards
How hard is it to become a remort class, aside from the whole ranking to 50 thing? IE, does "master of my class" mean I have to have a real good pk record to become a psionicist? I mean, what if I just have a load of tries and deaths or something? Tantangel
A master of your class is basically just being 50. PKs shouldn't really count against or for your character in my eyes, because not everyone is great at PK. It takes time to be great at PK. Then again it usually depends on the Imm. Some Imms prefer you have a decent PK record to get things, IE: Syndicate and Vampires. I've heard of people getting things like Psi's with very little amount of PKs, so I'm sure it's entirely possible to get one with 0 PKs and a few PDeaths. They're not exactly the types of classes Vampires are, where a Vampire kills usually to live, a Psi doesn't have to do that, same goes for Crusader, Undead and Demon. Granted Undead and Demon best HAVE some kind of PK record, because usually I've not seen any of those get accepted when they have 0 as a PK record. But like I said, it's up to the Imm in charge to decide on what they want.
Warpnow
I have met quite a few psis who couldn't pk for **** at lower ranks, but they don't seem to pinn because of how complex the class is. It depends on the class... Vampire, Demon, Sader...have a good pk record. Avatar, have great rp and a good pk record. Psi...have great rp and a decent pk record. Course, this is based off of my observations as I haven't had all of the qclasses, but I think I am close to accurate.
Chayesh
As I've said before, getting any quest race or class is at least 40% RP, if not more.
WarriorCleric
I get my almost entirely on RP and dedication, my pk style is like a sad mop. I take care of whatever is left behind, so long as it's not to big. WC
Tantangel
Some of the Saders I've seen weren't that much of PKers pre-Sader. In fact, they had already died at least 10 times or more before getting it. Believe Viri even said that they weren't one of the qclasses to be required to PK heavily, as they have such a wide range of RP from being a Priest to being a Warrior. All have each to a degree, but some have more of one than the other. Depends on how the player takes the character, and whether or not they even get approved or not. And I think it's always been based at a good 60% RP and 40% PK. Too much PK and you're looked on as trash by the playerbase and you're usually getting better and better armor (which can look like that's HOW you're getting your PKs from some players/Imms points of views). However if you add just enough of each, usually more RP than PK, you're looked on as 'skilled' to the playerbase and the Imms tend to look more highly on it than if you have a perfect PK record and 0-10% RP. That's just from what I've seen though.
Balinor
A scale I was given by an old IMM: Crusader, Psion: Good RP Undead: Mediocre-Decent PK, Good RP Demon: Decent-Good PK, Good RP Vampire, Avatar: Really Good PK, Really Good RP In other words, if you can (and do, which is key) RP well, then you have a good chance of getting Crusader, Psion and Undead. If you add Good PK skills to that, you can get just about anything. However, if you sit there for a really long time and just RP really, really well, you can get ANYTHING. Demon Nexus Bard Leader. myrek
It also depends on your class. A thief, young mage, healer, or other non-PK type aren't going to have a great PK record. Let me rephrase: maybe no kills, but very few or no deaths.
Raargant
Thieves can have incredible PK records.
myrek
Other than healer, any class CAN have a great PK record. Some are more suited for it that others.
Raargant
You need to check out modern FL thieves and traps, if they haven't before. Thieves are now probably one of the easier classes to get a high PK record on than others
myrek
True, I had a decent thief. But if you are going for Undead, you have to do it before 31. A "good PK record" and "trash" are very similar at that level.
Goomf
Trash = Good pk record no rp. You want to get a quest class, concentrate on the rp. Good pk records really doesn't show too much. Oh, and make sure you aren't overly beefed out. I remember with some of my past remorts I would just leave rares or sacrifice rares after I kill my enemies. I would only keep rares that I can get a level 30 like the double plated helms (no frost burned, no winter stuff, etc.) Btw, a good pk record means a good ratio of death to kills.
