Evangelion
To all you females out there, I have a question. Guy meets girl at work. Guy invites girl out for coffee after work, girl accepts. Guy says "We should do this more often!", testing the water for further interest. Girl says "Yeah, definitely. After work some time, or maybe even when we don't have work." Does the italicized part means she is interested?
Lailanni
The fact that you even need help figuring this out makes me mad at my boyfriend for having a penis. But yes, it means she's interested. It really doesn't get more obvious than this. Of course she could have stapled the check to your forehead with "i like you. do you like me?" scrawled in pink gel pen. oi
corpsestomp
Seriously? You need to ask this question? If a girl is interested, you should know it immediately...Does she make eye contact constantly? Does she ask you questions about yourself? The fact that she accepted your offer for coffee should mean that she's at least a tiny bit interested in you. Now your actions will determine whether it's a brother/sister (blech) relationship, or a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship.
Evangelion
Well, perhaps the fact that I italicized it made it more "obvious" than it was when we were having the conversation. However, there were a couple of factors that made me doubt: 1) She's 20, I'm 17. 2) She's a very friendly person in general - she might just like hanging out. 3) We only met each other last night. corpsestomp
She's older, so what? I'm assuming she's in college, and used to guys who still act like they're in high school, and maybe you're a little more mature than that. She's friendly? Then treat her like a friend until you know whether she wants a relationship or not, the important thing is to not act like you're looking for anything more than friendship until she's ready(unless of course you are looking for a relationship, then let her know off the bat). You just met? Oh well, it's always worth a go at a good looking lady, isn't it?
Imoutgoodbye
Just be the Love Master, Master of Love. Yeah, that's right baby. Walk nasty for the Reverend. Yeah, I got your Pokemon. C'mon over here and let the Reverend get a Pik-at-chu. You believe in fairy tales baby? Puff the Magic Dragon! Wanna play Jack and the Magic Bean Stalk? Fee Fi Fo Fum, I'm gonna make you.... Yeah, that's right baby, walk nasty for the Reverend. I'm so good the cops came three times and my neighbor's neighbor had a smoke when I was done. You want safe sex? Get me a Hefty bag. You like Star Wars? Well, c'mon over here and Chew Bacca! Tell Pinnochio a LIE! Last time I was on Judge Judy, they had a hung jury. I told her to keep that mouth open...I'd put a gag order on her! (courtesy of Craig Shoemaker's "The Love Master") But seriously, try going out a few times, see what you can deduce. If you enjoy being friends, have fun! But if you want to know how she feels, you can A) Just ask! It works! or Go for a kiss! Simple enough. Enjoy. -Reverend Love Master, Master of Love

Dizz
You're 17 and she's 20? That makes you jailbait. Wait until your birthday. The law where I am is 'if there is a 48 month or more age difference, it is statuatory rape." Of course that is if you are active. You don't want her to get in trouble that way. Sorry if I come off severe, but I have been though countless trainings at work for mandatory reporting.
Implementor Anume Posted March 25, 2007 Implementor Report Share Posted March 25, 2007 LOL. And yes. edit: If you want to be totally save, ask her out to somewhere considered rather romantic. You'll definitely know at the end of that date.

Evangelion
Uh... Not to be non-macho or anything... But I turn eighteen in a month. I certainly don't intend for things to turn sexual before then.
Dizz
I understand, it just had to be said. Once your birthday comes around, invite her for the party! She sounds interested.
Mudder
Uh... Not to be non-macho or anything... But I turn eighteen in a month. I certainly don't intend for things to turn sexual before then. I don't want to be a hater... But yeah. You ruined the macho vibe with that last sentence. This needs to be said. She is older. Get used to it. Ignore age. The more you bring it up, the more it will matter to her. As far as you should be concerned, you are equals. Do NOT ask her if she likes you. Just act like she does. In fact, know she does. Have confidence. That is ooh so important. Then make your move. If you followed my directions carefully it will work out just fine. EDIT: Do not try to fake confidence. You'll just look stupid. You need to be yourself, but confident. Get it?
Dobson
I don't think its possible for a woman to rape a man! Yes, it is. And statutory age is different for every state. For example, in Texas, the legal age is 17, not 18 like most others. I am sure I will get flak for this BUT it is true. THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS IF THEY ARE 3 OR MORE YEARS APART IN AGE, up or down. Pluse, if you are not 18 and only 17, your parents can still file charges IF you are under their care which 99% of kids are. So in Texas bro, you would be legal as eating ice cream. KRins
Legal age of consent in Florida is 16, but you gotta be within 3 years. Of course if you are my homeboy and you are 21 and dating a 17 year old, I won't turn you in but I will taunt you until you quit her or become a hermit monk. Evangelion
Legal age of consent is different, Krins. It's 16 in Maryland, too. Then, under eighteen, you've got the three year rule (IE- 14 and 17). Then if one person is over eighteen and one person is under, even if it's just by a month, it's rape. Once both people are eighteen is the only time you're home free.
KRins
I guess I'll just happily smile that she is 22, roll back over and go back to sleep.

The point here is that they are discussing PARENTS who can file against the guy or girl doing their son or daughter. IF THEY ARE OF LEGAL AGE TO CONSENT PARENTS CAN NOT FILE FOR THEIR CHILDREN IF THEY ARE NOT UNDER THE PARENTS CARE. Which isn't very often but if you have your own place, a job, still in highschool with good grades and want to get it on in Maryland, GIGGIDY! GIGGIDY GIGGIDY! AAAAAAAALRIGHT! At least that is how it works here in texas, the rape charges are still the same they are just different levels, statutory, aggravated, of an infant *yes they have that....:'(* No rape is a federal crime saddly, just a lot of stuff that goes with it so it varies from state to state. Mister E
I suggest you think about other stuff while seeing this girl. You dont want to be in a negative mind state worrying about this kind of nonsense. You are 17 she is 20 big fricken deal. I dated a 17 year old girl when I was 19 and her parents did not like that. (Not that they didnt like me but she was their youngest daughter so they were just over protective) Sounds like what you should be focusing on is whether or not she wants to take things to the next step with you. Girls will NEVER just tell you that, and if you resort to asking outright...it can serious hurt your chances. You as a man are expected to know what she wants, so better start figuring it out fast. The biggest keys are body language. Does she brush up against you? Does she hold your arm when you walk up to the restaurant? If she touches your arm when you make her laugh your golden etc...Dont be afraid to look her right in the eyes when you talk to her, if you seem hesitant or insecure at any time it could cost you. Women adore confidance, but dont be a cocky @$$hole.

Deykari
Be sure to slip that into conversation, by the way - that you play a text-based RPG for fun. "Yeah, so get this. When you look at me now, I'm me. But when I get home, I'm Evangelion. People are scared of me, because they know if they don't respect me, I'll cast Ice Storm at level 55 on them and shatter their weapons, or poison them so they can't regenerate their hitpoints for eight-hours game time." But on the stat. rape thing, i seriously doubt your parents will press charges or even care. My dad was proud as hell.
