before you tell me to, i already sent a note to immortal in-game, and put this in the prayer forum, but i had a drow thief- rank 22 i believe, and i didnt play him for a while, and when i returned, he was rank 6. eshaine told me this has happened before, and i gave her the requested information, but i would like to know what happened, as no one has been very informative/helpful...

also, i would appreciate it if someone would paste the thief skill list on a post so i can give a bit more info to the imms.

i have a client, but i am on other computers more than my own. why doesnt telnet work on some computers, and how can you make a mud?

lemme rephrase that, what do you use to make a mud, and how do you do the coding?

geeze, can make a comp game with really good 3-d graphics with sumthin as crappy as studiomax 3D, but i cant even make a text game.

If you have a burnable CD (preferably rewritable one), burn Mushclient onto it and make sure you have ALL triggers and such that you're going to use on that CD as well so that it can actually run like it was on your computer. Then you can go to different computers and pop that in and play from Mushclient farely easily.

As for a Text Based game, it takes knowing how to code to get it to work. I know that this game is run as a ROM and that it's coded in C and C++ (at least I'm pretty positive about that) and a LOT of knowledge on the ways coding works. Because if you don't know and a bug happens, you might be doing more harm than good to what you're doing and possibly self destruct it. Even a well rounded coder can screw up sometimes. I recall hearing about how Viri had taken FL and went to 3.0 and gave it over to Arzaeth for if anything going wrong he could change it back over. And something did go wrong so they had to revert back to 2.0 as the testing port apparently had crashed pretty good. I don't know the whole story on that, but it was apparently where some other things happened as well.

Better than that is a USB pendrive, onto which you can install programs like it was a hard drive, but you just pop it into a usb port.

Never seen the bug before.

And as for starting your own mud, you have to either code it from scratch or get one of the many cores t start off of, such as the FL core, which was made public by Viri at one point and floats around the net, but its a touchy subject...so don't start discussing the code at random on the forum.
