Fiere
Right, so here's the situation. This guy attacks me out of nowhere without saying a thing. I'm actually kind of glad, cause I was getting bored but didn't want to make unneeded enemies. We go at it off and on for a while, then eventually he kills me. Off and on again, then i'm sitting in Val Miran just hanging out and he comes in and attacks some other guy who is next to naked. So I immediately start blasting him and kill him. Then he starts saying this stuff about why did I help him and he's gonna tell the immortals and stuff. I don't even know the guy he attacked. Did I do anything wrong? Acerbity
That's far from illegal.
Nympha
Far far from illegal. Just shrug and ignore him.

wolfeman
Well, technically, it is illegal because you killed him in Val Miran, and that's a crime. But if he were to tell the imms to try and get you in trouble, they'd tell him to find someone who cares.
Sneak
I think its cheap. Hate when people does that.

myrek
I think its cheap. Hate when people does that. Well, ummm, don't attack a PK when there is another PK nearby? Assume everyone is out to get you? Don't make enemies? Kill your know enemies before you move on to making new ones? Be more paranoid.
Sneak
re UB wasnt me. But I have tried people suddenly unghosting to deliver a hellstream in a fight that wasnt theirs at all.
H&R
It's not illegal, but many dislike people who jump in on others battles. I am with Sneak on this one. You may have felt sorry for the nearly naked guy, but he should be able to take care of himself.
Tom
Why shouldn't a lawful character attack someone who is murdering a weakling right in front of him? Why shouldn't a chaotic charagter seize a golden opportunity like that one?
H&R
If I had been the nearly naked guy, I would have been furious about someone interfering to aid me.
Sneak
Why shouldn't a lawful character attack someone who is murdering a weakling right in front of him? If you are a lagable class fighting someone who can lag you - you are simply dead if say an invoker jumps in.

Pali
cause the game is not balanced to handle this in many situations. If you are a lagable class fighting someone who can lag you - you are simply dead if say an invoker jumps in. Plan it right, and you can have a friend of yours with you to even it out. Or you have two friends, so they call another, and before you know it you've got a massive brawl in the middle of Rheydin. Imagine the fun. Tom
Don't read me wrong, it's cheap to gang or take advantage like that, I don't do it, and it's completely not allowed sub-40, but it is legal otherwise.
Magick
Why shouldn't a lawful character attack someone who is murdering a weakling right in front of him? A Lawful character shouldn't in a town, unless said lawful is Tribunal. Lawful Good, would. Outside town. In some cases. Lawful Neutral wouldn't care, unless the assistance would gain him opportunity. Lawful Evil would be looking out for #1. Unless, again, the assistance would gain opportunity. Why shouldn't a chaotic charagter seize a golden opportunity like that one? Chaotic good, wouldn't if they were good, or they saw no benifit for themselves. Chaotic neutral, might. They're a bit off anyway. Chaotic evil, would jump right in and take sadistic pleasure in it. It's not so much one ethos. You have to look at the entirety of the ethos before one can make such a statement. Like the LG, the LE would have a set of morals or guidelines that they will not break, absolutely. They might differ vastly, but still. IE: The LE will NOT harm a rabbit. They like rabbits. They're cute. And will go out of their way to kill anyone that harmed a rabbit. Perhaps even in town. Killing a rabbit is worse than murder in their eyes. There was a nice list of the different arrangements of the align/ethos. If anyone has it, Could it be re-posted? I lost mine durring my last HD wipe.
myrek
It is nice to know that some things never change. Gang-bangs happen. If you don't like it, don't do it. If you don't like dying to it, make a char that can fight groups (ninja, thief, necro, ranger, battlemage, warrior, invoker, cleric, monk, berserker, blademaster, druid, paladin, crusader, vampire, psi, and probably lich). If you can't to either of those, log off.

Fiere
Right, I'd like to clarify a little bit. One, I'm chaotic neutral. Two, I specifically told the guy I was "helping" that it wasn't for him, which it wasn't. I just saw an enemy and a golden opportunity. Anyways, maybe that helps. And it's at 50.
