Alcoholic perk

This perk needs to have a downside. Like you can no longer vomit, or you need to eat much more, or you have perm alcohol addiction like herbs.

There is a downside. No one can understand you.

Why? It's such a small damage mitigation that there are only a few combos where it is going to make a noticeable difference in the damage they take...namely ones with vuln races involved.

I hate that I see 50-75% of the chars ARE alcoholic, without a drop of RP besides the barrel of beer they keep.

No loss to proficiency.

No stocking food.

No negative effects.

Dunno if I can say what you get going alcoholic, so I won't say it.

it's like 30% alcoholic, 30% addict, 30% lucky, 10% others heh

There is a downside actually.

You can't use it to train

thats not really a downside. Not an incredible amount of people drink to train.

That's not the only downside it has, but I can't bother to argue.

Btw, once again, why does it need to have (another) downside?

I find it funny the people who are usually first to defend something, are also the first to use it.

So?

You still didn't answer my question...

this

I think it's funny that some people in this thread think they know what they're talking about.

I think it's funny that you think its funny that they don't think its funny, but, yes, it's funny.

What's with the sudden rash of bitching on the forums? I thought we all like this game, that's why we play.

And yes, I realize the irony of bitching about you all bitching. (Smart wife)(smartass)

If there's one thing I've learned with my latest character - it's that you need to think outside the box, some times you need to forget the box, when fighting builds that are designed to beat you.

Oh and I'm also pretty sure the alcoholic perk is not 10% but I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong

It's definitely 10%.

10% reduction

20%

10% is the drunk effect on proficiency if you are drunk.

If alcoholic perk negates this proficiency reduction (never played alcoholics) then this is a serious unbalance.

I agree with alcoholic being a bit much. I really enjoyed the alcoholic perk but I made certain to RP it with my characters.

Why do you all think Kongol took so little damage the majority of the time? Physical resistance + alcoholic + sanc ...People did horribly little damage at times even when wearing pretty good eq.

I'm curious where people got the numbers of 10%, or 20%. I'm unsure if it even does that much. It does do some other neat stuff too.

As far as having any downsides? Yeah right. (except when Zhokril gave some sort of liver cancer/magical curse to all of the alcoholics in game once )

Great Idea...

This reminds me of old Avian disease vulnerability that caused them to contract plague on % when they tried to cast it.

An alcoholic health should be awful.

They should get the Sickly perk penalty.

Plus, they should get dysentery when drinking milk.

And a % chance to get drained when drinking water.

After all a true alcoholic that is forced to drink water will suffer a great moral setback.
