Dizz
Okay, it's that time again. My year of Norton is about to expire so it's time to pay way too much for another anti virus program. I wasn't thrilled with McAfee, and I don't want to stay with Norton. It has way too many pop ups and it doesn't always do what I tell it. SO! You guys must know a good scanner. My brother likes PC cillin, but I saw a PC world review that said it was rather poor. All I want is a AntiVirus/Firewall. I don't need any spam filter crap or IM scanner crap, but I'll buy it if I have to. Suggestions???? Please?
archgold
well since i came back for a bit...decided to help u out. here's my suggestions: spybotSD search & destroy (just make sure you don't download some other similar ones many of them are viruses in itself), AVG Free version
Dizz
I already have spybot. After looking around, ZoneAlarm Virus scan is looking pretty good. It has high ratings from PC world. http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_zaav.jsp;jsessionid=GFOyslaIV7gnGnCF8cx299PdZGtxq7uNc5Aj7zHgbiBHDIL1rSVU!-1992105728!-1062696903!7551!7552!NONE?dc=12bms&ctry=US〈=en What do you think? Hegemon
I just cycle through all the free ones, I think if you abuse all the free trials from the more well known AV Companies, you end up with something like 2 years of free updates? EDIT:I usually end up changing my ISP or Reformatting within two years, and restart the cycle once again.

AVG Free edition is brilliant, and spybot SD search and destroy is really good for adware, malware, etc. ZoneAlarm is good, but taxing on system resources. Dizz
I went for it, I'll just disable it during offline stuff. I'll post a review in about a month if I remember.
