MeleeCrazy
I'd say it is crackdown isn't that bad aof a game in it's own right...the halo 3 beta is just the icing on the cake...however i haven't actually played the beta yet..
Guest emp_newb
Crackdown is ok, a bit better than most, and the halo 3 beta rocks balls sideways, halo keeps getting better.
Icor
Naahaha. I signed up back in October and got accepted. I'd been playing the Beta with only 5000 other people for about 16 hours before the Crackdown thing started working. BTW, Crackdown is a blast. It, even without the Beta, is worth $60. Dale
How is the beta? I'll just wait till september 25th for the actualy game.
Icor
It's good. But it doesn't have everything in it. I think it's more of a way for them to advertise and test server strength than anything else.

Evangelion
Although the actual AMOUNT of content of the beta is disappointing (IE- no cinematic sequences, demo campaign play, etc.), the content that it DOES contain is not disappointing in the least. New things include: Splinter Rifle (I think that's what it's called), which is akin to the SMG. Spartan Laser, a charged-up instant-death laser with scope. Missile Pod, a non-renewable rocket launcher that decreases your movement speed but fires rapidly. Spike Grenade, similar to plasma grenade. Mongoose, human vehicle, has room for a driver and gunner on the back. Trip mines, have sensors and explode when someone enters their proximity (be it friend or foe). Bubble shield, creates a small, portable field that prevents explosions/bullets from getting in and out. Power drainer, the opposite of the bubble shield, creates a small field that instantly drains the shield of anyone that enters. Portable gravity lift, pretty self explanatory. Detachable turrets, yes, that's right. Turrets can now be lifted off their bases, and carried around. Old things that have been changed: Magnum/pistol removed. Assault rifle brought back. Needler power boosted. Grenade accuracy increase (namely, it actually goes where you throw it, not below where you throw it.
elfdude
They screwed with grenade tosses? Now I have to relearn how to throw grenades glad they brought back assult rifle though.
Evangelion
Hopefully they'll make it dual wieldable, or it'll suck.

Deptore
He meant the Assault Rifle.
elfdude
Ahh, the assault rifle rocks though. I don't think you'd need it to be dual wieldable.
Pali
The Assault Rifle is good if you are a good shot. This is why Evangelion needs two. ^_~

Icor
The assault rifle will never be dual wieldable, unless in single player or something. Watch the latest Bungie doc to learn why. Shotgun only has 6 rounds in it now, but it is a lot more reliable.
