goldbond
I have a class that use pets, and I can give them stuff and tell them to do stuff with it. But then I have this other class not made for pets, and I bought a pet at the slave shop. For some reason I get give it crap, and cant order it to get all corpse because "A XXXXX has its hands full." It's just a standard slave shop pet, why does it have its hands full?
Iyorvin
so people don't get easy full loots for 100 gold
Zrothum
Yea, instead you just need to kill a lvl 35 mob and recite it's scroll.

mya
Unless you are a Paladin. Then there is no pet for you.
Kinicky
Paladins can't use scrolls? And isn't goliath a pet?
Deykari
Pallies can, but Heroism effectively means no pets, unless you go without using the skill. Goliath isn't a pet either. Dey

TheNewGuy
Meh, what is heroism compared to the ultimate full-looting setup. :p

TheNewGuy
Exactly. What use of killing if you fail to full loot?
goldbond
i dont think that's going to hurt a paladin unless a.) he kills the PC right by the temple, or b.) there's an observer present ready to to loot. otherwise i guess i'd just do the ol' put all sack/bag, get all corpse, repeat if neccessary, sac 1. xZapped items. if there's a weight issue like with the corpse's bags/sacks, and there's no observers (that i can see) i move one room away and drop my own bag/sacks and sometimes my entire inventory then go back to corpse and just get all then drop all and sac 1. unless i see something nice. pretty dumb method but it's the best i know and it's only burned me twice in the past 6 years with a no-pet character
Tantangel
I recall Vanicus assassinated me once about 15 rooms at most from my temple and by the time I got back to the corpse (I wasn't even lagged), my corpse was pretty much empty and he didn't use a mob to pick anything up. The only pets that will pick up things for you are ranger pets, Necromancer pets and the one mob from the one scroll. I'm not sure about Cabal charmies as I've never really been in a Cabal that really has them/relies on them (IE: Tribunal to capture). Granted I was in Nexus a long time ago, I don't recall what the pets could and couldn't do because it was shortly after 2.0 opened up.
L-A
get 1. corpse drop 1. sac 1. Bind it to an alias and as long as you can get commnads in you can full loot the corpse by the time they move 3 rooms from their temple. Personally, I think that scroll should be a potion. As a melee you are usually so weight down with extra weapons/eq/consumables even a fg doesn't have the str to walk away with all someone's gear. If melee's could actually use that I think it would make it a LOT easier since they rely on eq and it sucks when you kill someone and can't take it all because you're juggling item and weight limits while the person waltz's back in and grabs their eq. Tantangel
get 1. corpse drop 1. sac 1. The problem I see with that is if you're an Evil, goods wear armor that an Evil can't touch. So you may be getting 1., but if you're zapped you're dropping 1. of yours and sacrificing yours and leaving theirs still. I prefer: get all corpse; put all backpack; get all corpse; put all backpack; get all corpse; put all backpack; sac 1.; sac 1.; sac 1.; sac 1.; etc... At least you get it all and if you have it in an alias you will still have the same affect in maybe a shorter time, but at least you'll have it done before they get back, usually. goldbond
he made an excellent point about melee's dilemma with looting when you account for the weight/item limit they face just walking around all day with consumables and weapons. of all people they should be the ones with the easy way to loot since they would have even more need of a lot of the consumables on corpse. a monk/war/ber ONLY item should be around for that. Tantangel
The reason why probably was because that people who originally played warriors and such were strong races who could carry such. Then those races became obsolete after people started playing other races. Backpacks are great because they reduce weight of actual items. Huge sacks and such make those heavier. Granted backpacks can only hold 100 items in it, way more handy if you're looking to full loot. Melee's shouldn't have to need a pet to hold everything, even though they do come in handy (especially if you just totally raped that big bad guy no one else could kill just 3 rooms away from his recall). That should probably be left up to the Imms though when they decide to replace that area or update it or whatever.
L-A
The problem isnt' that I can't get everything - its that people just run back and while I'm juggled backpacks/sacks/pills/potions and trying to keep an eye out in case someone else jumps me while I'm hurt the person grabs 98% of their eq and I know in 10min I'm going to have to go through the whole process of killing them again. On the other side, if I don't die 2 rooms from my temple any chump who can recite a scroll can take off with all my stuff and pick through it at will. I should know - every class I've ever played with scrolls doesn't sit around waiting at a warm corprse. Recite scroll;o all get all corpse and I take off for my nearest bolt hole to decide what I want and what I don't. Its ironic that hte melee's - who need eq so badly to compete - are the ones who get shafted when it comes to looting it off their PKs. L-A PS - I might full loot but at least I don't take your gear and give it to someone else. I might hand over a rare or two to a cabal mate, but I've never handed over a suit.
