Dizz
I was looking at my old docs and I found this from an old Baldur's Gate game: I think it was an item on a villain. I used to have the recipe for Monkey balls, but I lost it. Barbequed Elf Ribs: 2 TBSP paprika 2 TBSP ground mustard 2 TBSP Dark brown sugar 1 tsp cayenne pepper 1 tsp KOSHER salt (normal iodized table salt is MUCH, MUCH saltier!!!) 3 cloves of garlic, minced 1 cup FINELY chopped onion 1 cup worstershire sauce 1 cup cider vinegar 1/4 cup of butter ketchup. combine dry spices in a bowl with the worsh sauce and vinegar, let them dissolve. melt butter in a large saute pan, add onions and garlic, saute until tender. everything else from that mixing bowl, bring to a boil. thats your marinade, take about a quarter of it and reserve it, throw your elf ribs (although pork ribs/chops/tenderloin works as does chicken and beef... pork is probably the best though) into the other 3/4 of it and completely submerge if possible. let the meat marinate for 4 hours. heat your grill, and cook pork to at least 140 degrees (its hot enough to kill trichonosis, but it will be a nice high-end medium)... if you're broke and have to use the broiler in your oven it will work, but char-broiled is much better. take the reserved liquid and whish ketchep into it until it becomes a barbeque sauce... i generally use about 14 ounces of ketchep (i think), so if it tastes off keep adding the ketchep. thats it, this is seriously the BEST barbeque recipe i have come across since i started cooking professionally, its simple, cheap and you'll be using that bbq sauce on EVERYTHING, it kicks *** on fries! enjoy! Hegemon
I finished Baldur's Gate, the expansion, Baldur's Gate 2, and that expansion with the same character, a solo mage. Despiser himself can vouch for it, as can several others I was in contact with at the time. I went close to madness, but I did it. Nothing can stand before the power of magic, in any universe. Except maybe this one, as I can't seem to really get it to work in my daily life. No fireballs, teleportation, or the like. Yet.
corpsestomp
Mages suck hard in the first BG...That is, until level 5 or so. I think my favorite I've played out of the piles I have saved is a 3 Fighter, dual classed into a cleric. Put points into blunt weapons, and took Bassilus' +2 Warhammer.
