CD Burner Help.

WMP will download the info if you are connected to the net while the CD is in your drive or burned onto the hard drive. It won't read individual songs copied or downloaded, but if the album folder is there it should get the info. It's worked for me on some pretty obscure stuff.

I'm no expert, so bear with me.

When you have a music file, the song information comes in the way of IDE tags embedded within music files themselves. D

If you have the song, "Deykari owns" by a band called "Pride of Chayesh" saved as Pride_of_Chayesh-Deykari_owns.mp3 but the IDE tags aren't set to the artist, title, album, genre, etc. etc., any media player that gets the song/artist name from the IDE tags will just show it as whatever the default tags are, usually "Track 1", "Track 2" etc. if the songs are ripped straight from the disk.

I use Winamp, and regardless of what the filename is, the artist/title is taken from the IDE tags, so when I rip a CD to my computer, all the filenames are Track 1.mp3, Track 2.mp3 and so on, but when I load them in Winamp, it shows the correct IDE tags (as I have a program that gets the information for the songs from the internet).

The problem might be that your songs either have the correct IDE tags but are named Track 1.mp3, Track 2.mp3 and so on and WMP shows the filename, not information from the tags? Or it might be that you have the filename as the right artist/track, but the IDE tags aren't set-up?

You probably might already know that, and if you do, then maybe the problem is that whatever software you're using doesn't keep the IDE tags when you burn the songs onto CD. I know for a fact that Nero, and even the standard Windows tool to burn CDs (where you just drag them into the CD drive with the blank disk in and click to burn) retains IDE tag information.

Sorry, I didn't quite explain that as I intended to, if that makes no sense, then I'll attempt to clarify.
