This charge of thievery and false accusation has no weight. If my

credibility is in doubt just ask the other hundred or so people I have

now how transparent the good will of the Tribunal's is. Having written of

Morgweans debt as a loss in good faith, a debt exceeding well over one and

half million gold coins, I am now called a liar and a cheat? Those of you

who know me will realise that my wealth is beyond normal comprehension, and

my wish to make a quick buck no longer exists. If any more evidence is

needed only seek out and ask Throlt of the generosity I have shown to him,

as well as many others I have shown him during my years as a reputable

business man. Excluding Mlaahuarsk, whom I still have high regard for, the

tribunals shall no longer be offered any of my wares for sale. Know that

While I have not yet made my final decision, nor declare an official

well know, Korthian Brokerage Services has been operating for quite a while

now. Thousands of transactions have been facilitated by KBS; millions of

gold coins have exchanged hands due to KBS' existence. And according to my

records, most, if not all, of you have benefited from this.

All I ask from each of you is to write your own personal letter to the Gods.

Include in the letter how YOU personally feel about me and my clan. Have

we been helpful? Or have we been useless? Do you appreciate our

services? Or are we just an annoyance? I will not pretend to not care

about what you write (I prefer good reviews to bad ones, of course), but

I will also not pretend to force you into writing something you do not

believe.

At the end of the letter, please add whether or not you would recommend

expanding Korthian Brokerage Services. This is key: no matter what

you decide, it would be very helpful if you could provide the divine with

a specific suggestion for KBS' future.

In return, I can assure you that should my clan expand, Watcher will

be benefited in both financial and material ways.

As some of you have already learned, I do not intend to keep Korthian

Brokerage Services a simple clan for its entire existence. With the help of

Bradah, plans have been made to expand this clan. Although I cannot provide

you with more details regarding this expansion, it should be evident that

members of KBS will benefit greatly.

So what's the hold-up?

It appears that the voice of the two most influential businessmen in this

world does not suffice. Apparently, the Gods do not consider Bradah and

I important enough to warrant a response to our request to turn KBS into

something greater than it currently is. I will not question divine will, but

that does not mean I have to accept it. Which is why I'm asking each

and every member of Korthian Brokerage Services to write a letter to

the Gods ("Immortal").

The letter needs not be anything more than a review of the clan from

your own personal perspective. Have you found the clan helpful, or

just an annoyance? Have I, Korthian Milniaro, given you what I said

I would, or was my sales pitch a complete lie? Inform the Gods of

your own answers to these and other questions you deem important.

Write what you truly believe! I don't care if you give a good review

or a bad one. My only request (besides asking you to write the

letter) is that you end your note with a clear and specific response

to the final and most important question, "Should KBS be expanded to

better serve Aabahran?" Once again, you decide how you want to

answer.

Seeing as how Historian Mathicus' well-written letter didn't help us get

the effect we were looking for, I've begun asking more people to write. I

believe the timing is crucial. If we ask too many people to write at once,

there would be one big, but very short, BANG. If we space out the

petitioning, the long "bang" would be barely audible.

As you can see, I've asked Watcher and KBS to write. I will do the

same with others later. Just wanted my Elder up to date with what's

going on.

i would like. Latter he asked if i would give accounts to the spirits of my

opinion of his K. B. S. I have not had much dealing with there clan or

merchants. I have bought three perhaps four things from them in my nine

long years of traveling. Though not much i have dealt with them the few i

did they did not swindle nor back stab. They have been honest and humble

folk. I have enjoyed them. A decent lot they be if they can move up in the

short time, very happy and almost trusted in clan. Me like do business, and

KBS help me great deal with it. Me know this service rather old, many times

older than me, yet me wonder why it so small service? Me believe master

trader want offer more quality service, but with current limit me think it

not so possible. Me also would like be better merchant, but only me can do

I must say whomever has guided this halfling has done so marvelously for

the service he offers is ingenious. In my line of work I come across many

items and some I make use of for throwing weapons others I rid myself of,

but now with this halfling there is gold to be made from passing them onto

him. Not only that but I can get him and his lackys to search the lands for

items I desire and pay him for the risk, it is a great service a shame it is

so limited in numbers at present. This korthian and KBS are surely to be

aided for their services.

Greetings Historian Mathicus. I am writing to you to discuss a possible

business arrangement between Herald and Korthian Brokerage Services. As you

well know, I have been attempting to expand my clan's operations so that

more and higher-quality services can be offered to the people of Aabahran.

Unfortunately, the lack of reply from other organizations (including the

Gods themselves) after such a long wait has forced me to accept failure.

But I shall not be deterred! I have no come this far to be rejected, or to

simply retire, in wealth and comfort, to the Shire! Which is why, after having

examined my current situation in detail, that I would like to ask for a special

position in your cabal.

Allow me some time to explain exactly what I propose. First of all, there is

clearly some competition for new recruits between the Academy and KBS.

Joining either clan is an excellent way for the younglings to learn about

Aabahran (with the latter focusing more on material things than anything else).

The separate existence of these two clans causes unnecessary hardship

for new adventurers, who would benefit much more from a single clan

that has the same amount of experience of two clans combined. What I propose,

then, is for my operations in KBS to be partly or completed brought over

to the Academy, so as to better help the young ones.

I am also more than willing to engage myself in Herald's scholarly work. Be-

fore founding Korthian Brokerage Services, I was a member of the Academy and

had procued a work (regarding financial matters) to demonstrate my ability to

write. I believe it was Herald Lyria who approved of it, and asked me if I

would like to join the cabal. Of course, I declined, not knowing back then

what I know now. If you grant me a position in Herald, I will gladly help out

with academic work.

Lastly, I should mention that I have no intention of stopping my economic

activities. If anything, I would be even more proficient than before. The

equipment and profits I gather will, however, be open to use by Herald. I

know, I know, you have told me many times that Herald does not require

wealth. But I must disagree, for one never knows when wealth just might

come in handy. Think of it as, "I would rather have a sword and not need it,

than need a sword and not have one."

I am glad all is back to normal. The news from Messalantha is

indeed promising. I think we shant have to wait much longer

then we have without some results from the fruits of our

efforts.

I would have to say the Herald idea is one I like the least.

I have no desire to be a scribe in any way. However if there

was need for advancement and that was our only option

I would in no way stop it from reaching its full potential.

I hope with this business will again begin to pick up quite

well, allowing us to move forward and gain even more power

Unfortunately I had to take this ones life. It was not by choice, but he

attacked a client of mine whilst in the middle of a transaction. I warned

him and told him to leave the city until I was done. He blatantly ignored

me and refused to back down, even threatening me in the process. He then

city. The client escaped but Athanar did not. I will not tolerate this

disobedience from anyone, trusted or not.

Syndicate will be split in two unofficial subcabals, HUNTER and MERCHANT.

take standards or bounties. They may choose so however, if they feel like it.

Greetings Aabahran! It brings me great pleasure to announce that

Korthian Brokerage Services will be undergoing quite a few changes in the

near future. These upcoming developments will enable Merchants to offer

faster, safer, and above all more efficient services. While I cannot reveal

any specific details, I assure you that the changes are for the best.

But as the saying goes, "No pain, no gain." And the pain involved with

KBS' expansion comes in the form of emptying the entire clan. Individual

traders that you have dealt with will continue to operate unless they indicate

otherwise. My own personal business services will be suspended until

the project is complete; this is due to the massive amount of paperwork,

meetings, etc...

In recognition of their extended support for KBS, each Trusted member

This is a rough draft of what I shall send to all Aabahran when the

Syndicate-KBS merger has been completed. Please let me know if it is

satisfactory. Keep in mind, however, that I cannot accept a version of

events that makes me, Bradah, or KBS appear as the weak party.

"Finally, the changes to Korthian Brokerage Services are complete! After

long ours of negotiation, planning, and implementation, Rat Queen

Messalantha and I are proud to announce the success of the Syndicate-KBS

Merger. By the time these words reach you, a part of the Syndicate cabal has

been set aside for Merchants such as me and Bradah Blackspore. We

are once again providing our services, this time with the backing of an undeni-

able power in Aabahran.

Know that this event was not rushed. Nor did the Merger occur without good

reason. For years I have been in contact with various leading authorities,

both mortal and immortal, in regards to creating an appropriate partnership for

KBS. In some cases, my philosophies based on economics were simply

not compatible. In others, I received an outright rejection. Only in the

cabal known as Syndicate did I find an ear willing to listen.

What more perfect marriage can there be, than the one between Syndicate and

Korthian Brokerage Services? The former provides the necessary infrastructure

for the latter to expand. The latter provides a fantastic support base for the

former to expand. This symbiotic, win-win relationship was not possible with

any other organization in Aabahran.

Furthermore, know that while Merchants are part of Syndicate, our main goal

is to provide financial and material services to Aabahran, just like before.
