Fearsome

This is a complaint about the Fearsome perk. I want to point out that so far, I've not run across one single mob that doesnt aggro me on a lvl 43 character that wouldnt aggro me if i wasnt carrying the Fearsome perk:

1.) anything in the Forsaken Lands, tainted sand, sand golems, wraiths, chaos scorpions.

2.) pikemen, palace guards, special palace guards in the fortress.

3.) crewmen in the pirate ship.

4.) matron mother in xymerria.

5.) consumed golems.

6.) chasm dragon and any other dragon that traditionally aggro's in the post-40 range.

7.) those things in the underwater area around healer island.

8.) any of the traditionally aggro mobs in the caranduin area.

and this is all just off the top of my head. what I really mean is that NO mob fails to aggro my character with the Fearsome perk. Sure, a crewman or sand golem sometimes does fail to aggro, BUT I know for a fact they fail to aggro all characters %100 when entering a room due to my previous characters.

I looked at the Fearsome text to make sure understood the meaning of this perk correctly, and it looks to me like for what it claims, it doesnt work at all. I'm at work so I cant paste the text but it's something like "some mobs arent aggressive etc etc."

So I'm callin' out to all you Fearsome d00ds to share your experiences with this perk and if warranted, set my silly arse straight. Am I missing the picture? Because right now I think this perk is %100 useless and not working.

If that is a list of mobs that DO AGGRO you when you have the perk your information is made up or plain wrong.

First off I believe you have a CHANCE not to get aggroed, and i believe level does play a major part.

I know for a 100% ABSOLUTE FACT that the..

Chasm Dragon, Mud Monster King, The first hallway of Tentacles in sunken ship dont aggro. Many many others I can just walk up to or by but wont mention as you should find them

I have walked by on what seems to be a 50/50 chance the creatures you listed in the forsaken lands as well as many others. Not just the ones that normally dont aggro. I have even walked into rooms with them and had someone else chase me in and watched them get attacked.

ALSO when in a group my fearsome character rarely seems to get that initial aggro when we step into a room as a group.

edit : Though hey, would be awesome if it worked more often.

Well kyzarius I appreciate your strong hearty response, but without going aggro on you, your assertion that I made any of this up is what's plain wrong. It's funny you mentioned the Mudmonster King, because I visit him ALL THE TIME and thing aggro's me %100 of the time. Yes, Chasm dragon aggros me %100 of the time. No, I dont know about the tentacles of sunken ship b/c I've not had a reason to visit there with this character yet. And yes, EVERYTHING I've listed specifically aggro's everytime I go to these places and the times that crewmen and sand golems fail to aggro are exactly the same proportion as a non-fearsome character.

Dude, I'm playing this character right now, as my main character. I test this all the time, every single time I'm having a session. I wouldnt post a thread if it were just bs, ok?

I generally take Adventurer because I want to rank up fast. I've only ever gone with athletic' date=' sickly and adict other than that though. Never really knew exactly what the other ones did and didn't want to really bother with the others.[/quote']

I took Merciful once with a character, for RP reasons.

Earned me a demon with it, too.;)

Example 1, Chasm Dragon.

[PROMPT]n

The boulder is closed.

[PROMPT] open n

You open the boulder north of you.

[PROMPT]n

The Lair of the Chasm Dragon

You are within a deep, rocky lair. Piles of bones from dead Oreads

are all around you, and the place reeks of carrion from this hunter.

Scraps of trash, clothing, and broken weapon lie haphazardly around

you. The keeper of this den seems to care little for its appearance.

[Exits: south]

A large white tooth.

The Great Chasm Dragon is resting here.

[PROMPT]poke chasm

You poke him in the ribs.

-------------

Example 2, Mud Monster King

[Prompt]s

The slime is closed.

[Prompt]open s

You open the slime south of you.

[Prompt]s

A Throne of Muck

This rather small room is covered in thick, viscus slime. In the center

of the room is a large throne covered in muck and, as luck would have it,

currently occupied. The throne is as free of adornment as a big chair made

of ooze can possibly be.

[Exits: north]

A crowned heap of slime is here, oozing and dripping before you.

[Prompt] poke mud

You poke it in the ribs.

[Prompt]smirk

You smirk.

--------

Now, do you see why I doubted your list? Are you sure you have the perk?

Oh true that, but why is this perk only going to really be apparent at pinn? The thing is, a crewman I think right now takes a little luck. I bet that a tainted sand is a perfect match. The mud kind is a lot of luck right now. If this perk is working, I'm going to say that at least some of the mobs I'm getting aggroed by shouldnt be aggroing me, and especially %100. I thought about my hit/dam and that's not an issue either. I thought about my character's race/align, and for mobs for which that wont matter, they still

%100.

So if the perk is not operational for me now (and it is NOT) I dont have a lot of faith for its operation at pinn.

Hey guess what. I don't care. I once debated going Merciful on a character but instead I chose Adventurer. I choose the perk that's going to best suit me as a character. Depending on the race/class I may choose a different perk. Like how I chose sickly as a perk for RP reasons. Didn't get me a demon, got me Cabal at lvl 38 though. Yes, Fearsome perk I think was intentionally meant to work at 50 rather than mid to late 30's. I think however someone said that it doesn't work all to well for Winter though. Granted that was a hell of a long time ago I can't recall.

[EDIT] And if I'm seeming to be a little *** like, partly to do with meds, partly to do with for some reason Bali, you seem to want to throw things in my face. (IE: Your sig, Onileon comment). All I have to think back to is your first Vamp and your very first death. :P

All I have to do is remember that you've never PKed me with any of your characters. Even Deykari has gotten me, but not you.;)

DEY got you? Dude... I honestly wouldnt be just like... Spreading that around... Surely you have some self worth/pride?

He got me fair and square.

Just like when I got Cariousus way back when, Despiser admitted to it. Granted, he tried to make excuses, like "I was wielding a weapon he gave me, because my weaponry was pathetic" or "It was daytime and he didn't have a certain vampskill active". Pff. I got him fair and square. The fact that he handed me a Fire Lance to fight him with means nothing.

That's because you run too fast. I was amazed that you got from Vamp Guild clear out to Rheydin to take a sun death in less than a tick or so. Probably shouldn't have been talking to Dizz on AIM though ;-). But yeah, I probably haven't killed any of your characters, I don't keep track of people I kill because I can care less about who I kill and who I don't. Deykari seems to have come a LONG ways in PK though since I quit playing so him killing even the most skilled PKer wouldn't surprise me much. Now that I'm back for a little bit (I'm actually missing work now) I might get you or might have already got you, I don't know. If not, oh well, if so then you can't wave that out anymore. :P

Hell, who knows though. It's been a while since I played, your skill might have actually improved some and you'll kill me on one of my characters that I've got now. Wait until July to find out if you did or not though.
