Lag

Dale

Recommended Posts

You can only hope that everyone else is lagging Dale, otherwise you know you've got to just quit and check the ping every so often and hope that it's cleared up. I'm experiencing it quite bad at the moment and was a few hours ago off and on as well which prevents me from PK off and on, but usually just every other day. Trust me though, no matter how much it frustrates you, hitting it doesn't work. Trust me, I've tried a few hundred times. A good way to piss me off would be to have a spike of lag hit me in the middle of a PK battle where the slightest mistake (or lag in that case) happens.

I'm on wireless net my problem isn't really so much just the lag as it is random connection loss and reconnect for what reason, I don't know. That causes the game to kind of shut down but not quite because the loss of connection is fast to getting back the game slows down to nothing for 10-20 seconds though. So on top of the lag I have that quite often enough, so I can feel for anyone with dial-up, but at least with dial up I stayed connected more. Then to top it off if it really pisses me off, I tend to smack it a little (more like punch and it's a laptop) and I think I did it one too many times earlier, but now everything freezes for a minute and then goes back to normal for like three minutes and then freezes up a minute. I kind of regret doing that now, but in my defense, I was frustrated! :(

There's some lag for you. Hence why I can't ever play at these times even if I wanted to. :P

Yeah, I've had more problems with DSL than I ever had with dial-up. Thankfully though my down time is temporary and I wont have to worry about the net cutting out on me while playing because I'll be racking up overtime to help pay my hospital bills. I never realized how expensive that **** is, I'm so glad I have insurance. I only have to pay around $2500 the entire bill itself is harsh.

I'm connecting through a mobile datacard that continuously loses UMTS connection and falls back to GPRS (way slower, higher latency,...), providing for random heavy delays and packet loss, connection loss, and crap like that. Already earned me a mob death while ranking, and a pdeath while hoping for escape commands going through (which they apparently didn't in time). Only experienced similar problems on a WLAN with very poor signal, and the crappy DSL line at my ex-girl's place (which would just drop connection for an hour straight or so). Damn, I want my old office's link back!!! -- or anything slightly more reliable than what I've got right now, actually. *mutters*
