Unknown Brother
Today is the big day when I up and leave Unknown Mothers house and start to make my own nest. I'm Moving in with Unknown Girlfriend. Shes been watching me play the last few days and thinks she'll start her own char up. Our computers wont be in the same room, just wondering if it'll be able for us to play at the same time. I can understand if we are not to interact with each other. Also, if we can't play at the same time, thats fine too. Just trying to get this clear.
Tantangel
Belch and his brother play from a similar IP. If you both have a similar IP, you probably wont be allowed to play with one another or be on at the same time as one another as that's what they say they were told. Not sure if anything else was said though.

corpsestomp
If you play at the same time, you are not allowed to be in the same area, or interact with each other at any time. Just make sure you aren't sitting around chatting in CC or sending tells or whatever. As long as the characters have no interaction, there won't be any problem. You should be sure to put a post on the prayer forum about it, as long as you let them know what's going on, there shouldn't be any sort of problem. Malchaeius
From Help Multi character and play him for you would not make you two the same people, if the players of those characters have any relations in real life, they may be considered as all of the same person. So, an excuse of, "But that's my friend playing the character, not me." would not hold. Additional Note: If you don't know what you are doing is multiing or not, you can always pray and ask whether we allow it. A good self-check exercise to do is to ask yourself, "Does my character have any reason to give this piece of equipment or grant help to this other person?" If you cannot give a good In Character response to that question, then you are most likely in danger of multi-charactering. Proxies: If you and someone else are logged in through a proxy, then you are not allowed to interact in any way with the other person. You two should not even be in the same room at any time. If you do not obey by these conditions, then you are considered guilty of multi'ing regardless. So the quick answer is, you can play during the same time, you are just not allowed to interact with each other.
Imoutgoodbye
Make sure you ALWAYS know where the other person is. i.e. Unknown Girlfriend has a ninja. She's sitting in her guild hall not paying attention to the screen. You end up sitting in Central Square and don't know she's there. An IMM does. You'll both get a tell to stay out of the same area. I've found that if you have to share an IP, keep two characters of opposing alignment for yourself. It'll save with the hunting and stuff. It can be a real pain when you want to PK someone and the other person is hunting with them. As far as I can tell, this makes any REAL play at 50 nearly impossible, especially if you join a cabal. And, yeah, you might be pulled up three or four times as I was. But don't worry....they'll get used to the IP fairly quickly. And you might even get a cookie, too. Just pickin' on ya, Eshaine. I love ya and I appreciated the fact that things are watched after.
Tantangel
But say you want to PK your sibling/friend/gf/whoever in the house is playing FL aside yourself? Sometimes people are mouthy, they deserve to be PK'd and having someone else might not always do the trick.
Deptore
In that case make sure she doesn't know it's your char or you might be sleeping on the couch.
a-guitarist
It doesn't matter what the rules say, not every immortal will know that the two of you have the okay to play together. And at some point, a new imm will pull you both into Deep**** and give you a shpeel. Happened to WC and I a few times. We politely asked them if the rules under "help multi" didn't apply to us, they read them, and then said "Don't let me catch you breaking these rules, okay?" and sent us on our way. Just be polite. Follow the rules. And if you get hassled, make sure you weren't in the same area. If you weren't, politely point the staff to "help multi" and all will be good. If you were, apologize, promise it won't happen again, and hope they are kind to you. a-g
kahlos
You can still screen peek ala Counterstrike.
Mmm Coffee
I think, like anything in this game, it's very doable - you are just going to be watched more (probably). Personally, I don't see why the people can't interact as long as it is kept IC. You already have a big IMM target on you, I think generally that's going to make a person more mindful of any OOC-ness. However, I know that years ago there were probably many cases of abuse with people logging on two chars at once to do equip changes, etc. But those are easily thwarted by bringing both chars into a room and having them do a simple typing test....not that I would know or anything
