Key Changes

1/22/2015

  • Warmaster Inductees are now exempt from gear crumbling on death.
  • Life Insurance has been changed. Players now lose equipment upon death. This ensures that life insurance isn't a total shield from item loss.
  • Barter no longer allows you to barter away cabal equipment.
  • You can no longer restring or bazaar re-name Unique equipment.
  • Some equipment can now be loaded with spells, giving you a partial proficiency.
  • You can now apply to another cabal, even if you were in one previously.
  • High sight has been adjusted.
  • Life insurance adjusted as follows:
    • 2-3 random rares will go to corpse.
    • if character is captured, 2-3 random rares are taken and put into jail bag.
    • if character gets killed via bounty (collect), 2-3 random rares go to the syndi bag.
  • Faction and newbie chat have had colors changed, as well as clan chat.
  • Feign chances increased - changed to work per round basis instead of per tick basis.
  • Liches adjusted slightly to allow for easier fighting against high-hitroll players.
  • Chill touch for liches adjusted.
  • Bone wall now fires against critical strike.
  • Solar plexus critical strike reduced to normal skills that are like it.
  • Diaphragm critical strike reduced to normal skills that are like it.
  • Ecstacy chance lowered considerably (but still plausible when first used).
  • The replay command now replays tells, cabal chat, group chat, says. Type HELP REPLAY for more.

  • Bards have been revamped. Please feel free to try out the shiny new class and share your thoughts.
  • Help QRACE/CLASS REQUIREMENTS adjusted to reflect new requirements for acceptance (i.e. rp points)
  • Material Nodes: Trees and mining veins have appeared throughout Aabahran. Adenturers with the proper equipment can now harvest materials from these nodes.

  • Ranger Changes:
    • paralyze behemoth's horn with horde rangers is now an effect, rather than a spell.
    • paralyze will now wear off properly.
    • behemoth's paralyze has been increased to char level+1, from 45.
  • Bard Changes:
    • rage effect from majestic solo changed to 'majestic' effect, which now:
      • you don't lose HP if your class is berserker when it ends, and
      • you don't bound after anyone else while the effect is active - you just can't flee.
    • brawl no longer works like pugil - it has its own formula and procs less frequently.
    • brawl works with staffs as well as instruments, but less so with staffs.
    • more brawl distraction commands added.
    • majestic solo toned: fantasia of illusions effect removed, rage effect changed.
    • lamented tears and rhapsody of delusion are both able to be sang in combat, now.
  • Warrior Changes:
    • 8% chance to silence a character with shield bash.
    • 8% chance to whirl shield (during auto_shield_bash) for 3 blockable attacks at reduced damage.
  • Druid Changes:
    • added a new skill 'foliage' to druid arsenal, at level 50, and duration depends on sector, and respawn rate of area.
  • All Classes:
    • Dodge is now dependent on DEX, changed from being dependent on STR.
    • Parry is now dependent on STR, changed from being dependent on DEX.
    • -AC now diminishes more the higher it is. Starting at ~1000 at 25% decrease, smaller decreases the closer it is to 400. (e.g., 1000 AC roughly translates into 750 AC instead).
    • All perm-fly classes can now use 'fly' to rise up into the air and fly.
    • All classes whom are currently flying, can 'land', dispelling the fly spell.

  • Warrior Changes:
    • auto_shield_bash reworked: 25% chance each round to auto bash.
    • damage based on weight of shield and level of shield.
    • auto_shield_bash does not get extra affects, only bleed.
    • regular shield bash mana reduced from 15 to 5.
    • affects removed: silence, misdirection, lag.
    • affects added: chance to disarm, shield-disarm, or rake_weapon if weapon is no_remove.
    • Throwing items at warriors (ninja, bard, ranger, thief throw) now have a chance to pass shield.
  • Bard Changes
    • chopping down better pieces of lumber increased by 10%.
    • mining better pieces of materials has been decreased by 5%.

Bug Fixes

  • Crash issue with leopards and disconnecting fixed.
  • Loaded spells on EQ causing crash has been fixed.

4/16/2015

  • Between 4/15/2015 and 4/16/2015 there was a hiccup (that, yes, I made) that caused all new bard skills to revert to "reserved". I've already fixed the pfiles of the well known bards and a few who have complained about it.
  • If you are a bard and your repertoire disappeared from your skill list (level 5) and mining/harvest also disappeared from your skill list (level 2), and if you're above level 35 and your vogue disappeared from your skill list: <redacted> (issues fixed)

  • Unless you're a giant, you cannot wield two weapons if one of them is two-handed. (Includes shields).
  • Sense motion should now always work as intended.
  • Characters affected by incarceration will no longer earn a penalty for not returning their cabal standard.
  • Medusa will now petrify as intended.
  • Class:
    • Bards continue to be assessed; bugs fixed, and adjustments made as needed.
    • Instruments have had their avg damage adjusted to new values.
    • Ninja push now works differently on fail.
    • Crusade skill change with High Sight.
    • Crusader thac0 adjusted (increased).
  • NEW RACE: Half-Drow have been introduced.

  • Envenom now properly works on all types of shurikens and daggers.
  • Fixed an issue with edge - cards/daggers/shurikens will no longer have an avg damage of 0.

OLC Changes

  • Typos fixed where discovered.
  • Fixed a reference to Rheydin.
  • The Avelarion is more exuberant (thanks Miskahn)
  • Various prog issues addressed as they appear.
  • Clockwork Dragonling once again requires correct parts to make it.
  • Brolia has had her level reduced by 133. Yeah, we thought it was weird, too.
  • Pit weapons will now undoubtedly only be one per person. In the event a loophole is found, offenders will be flogged with a wet noodle.
  • Willow Palm rewards for defeating the Fallen Shifu have been improved to better reflect the challenge of the encounter.
  • The Obsidian Plummet has been given +hit/dam and has had an in-combat affect added.
  • Bandages now improve blind fighting, and has been given a usable affect.
  • Boots of Stomping now check for illegal targets when worn as well as when picked up.
  • Bloodwolf eye has had its spell level risen to be more in line with other WM consumables.
  • Broken black-steel plate armor has had its price adjusted. Honestly...who pays 7K for something you found in the trash? (thanks Enethier?)
  • Some small adjustments made to the Undead Quest.
  • Quest fixes: Witness Ayluin's Lament:
    • Issues where pets would get caught in limbo while performing the quest in Ayluin's dreamworld is fixed.
    • The quest is no longer repeatable.
    • Yisabella has had her multiple personality issues handled.
    • A bug wherein the questor would get stuck at the Wierwells under certain conditions has hopefully been fixed. Any further issues, please post logs on the bug tracker.
    • Defeating the Gor'gork will now give players a perm quest text, instead of a temporary one. Further, the Gor'gorak's item drops have been increased by a huge amount.
  • Heralds have had some of their gear completely overhauled.
  • Falen Dara guards have had their level increased, and don't help 'good' characters anymore.
  • Hope clanhall has opened its gates once more.
  • Val Miran has been conquered by combined Knight and Caomhnoiri forces.
  • Ayluin's Lament is now on main. Explore, and discover the story of Ayluin.
  • Added a check to the spaceman and womb in Gear to help castaways abscond to safety.
  • Q-A Workshop:
    • Archimus notes are now available at the workshop.
    • The tinkerer will now tell you if someone has already discovered the current invention.
    • Made it easier for IMMs to tell who created it, but it's still advised you post on prayer.
    • Implemented a new legendary item given to the person who discovers it first, as well as the lesser items which will eventually be on sale by the tinkerer.

    • Champion's Cufflinks
    • A Hovering Spectre
    • A nine-ring broadsword
    • An Ancient Lantern
    • Tiando's Amulate
    • Bandages
    • Obsidian Plummet
    • and many more..
  • The water dragon is more colorful now.
  • The abbot's staff should no longer trigger if you aren't carrying it.
  • Whip of Divine Power has had its weight adjusted.
  • Astral Conclave:
    • RP Necklaces now come in two styles - Mage and Fighter. Pay close attention to the room you're in; the HOROLOGIST now sells fighter necklaces while the LAPIDARY sells mage necklaces.
    • Cycle necklaces added (thanks Professor).
  • The Rod of Stars will no longer be awarded to pets upon completion.
  • An issue with the rod of stars quest where players weren't getting the quest text upon completion, thus making it repeatable, has been fixed.
  • The Gor'gorak no longer does magical damage. Suck it, invokers!

  • Several errors in the atheism helpfile fixed (thanks fool_hardy).
  • Fixed 'help class' (thanks Magick).
  • Fixed a spelling error in the Fellblade Primer (thanks Miskahn).
  • The beastknuckle has had its weight increased to be more in line with other 2-handed maces.
  • More changes to the items of the Willow Palm Monastery.
  • Mithril pickaxe has had its antievil flags removed.
  • Xymerrian Guard Armor in the Ruins of Xymerria now can be picked up, and have had their AC values adjusted.
  • Items sold by Ilnaeth in the Ruins of Xymerria have been fixed:
    • The charred scroll has been dropped to level 10, and has had some values adjusted.
    • The toxic wand has had its spell level adjusted, spellforge removed and flags added.
    • The shard of black glass has had some flags adjusted.
    • The orb of ice has had some flags adjusted.
  • Spells from the Willow Palm wagon wheels have been changed. Should be nicer now.
  • Robes of the Prophet reduced to unique 1 from 2.
  • The silken cummerbund has had knockout replaced with uppercut and its spellforge value adjusted.
  • Catfur slippers have been made rare and have had one HR removed (fixed building error)
  • The crackling barrier's prof is now set at its intended level.
  • Ancient Banner has gained an AC and a slight regen bonus.
  • The Durashex Travel Log, corduroy pants, and the tweed jacket have had their spellforged prof levels adjusted.
  • Willow Palm: green potion has been modified and renamed to yellow potion.
  • Ayluin's lament: OLC prog issues with darkstone carcass has been fixed.
  • Zelestia will now properly 'aid' you.
  • Killing the Matron's handmaiden should now work properly.
  • Endif removed from John quest.
  • Brustlof's office magic barrier is no longer impenetrable.
  • Releasing Patient V will now properly grant you a quest completion and rewards.
  • Xymerria has exploded. Thanks Laelanis!
  • Deliverance, the hometown of the Half-Drow and other outcasts, is IN!
    • Deliverance guildhalls can no longer be magically infiltrated.
  • The Gor'gorak kills people now.
  • Blissful Falls Asylum has been discovered in the shadow of the Dragon's Teeth!
    • We are aware of several bugs with the Baleful Brother quests, and Brustlof's final fight. If you get stuck in a room, pray to be removed or teleport if able. These issues will be resolved ASAP.
  • The Erudite should properly grant skills now.
