Azergoth the Blue Dragon
Creature Compendium · by Herald Faulch Wordsmith
While multitudes have lived and died on Aabahran soil without ever setting eyes on a blue dragon, we are blessed to have one traveling among us. Azergoth the Great Blue Dragon, Tranquil of Aabahran, arrived in Aabrahan sometime around 874 PC. Hailing from a land of eternal battle, the Blue Dragon earned the respect of his rivals as well as the men under his command. His powerful presence on the battlefield alone often swayed the very outcome. Quickly his army grew, and equally fast the dragon learned to anticipate his enemies. Winning has the quite unfortunate disadvantage of leaving generals with restless men waiting for new orders. It was just such an occasion that led to a planned expedition into the mists. Bound together by long tethers of rope, and bearing the brightest torches they could find, the blue dragon and his army slowly entered the mists. The mist grew heavier and the visibility became awful. Somewhere, lost within the mists, the dragon lost his army. When he emerged from the cloud banks he found himself here in Aabahran. A fearsome and powerful creature to look upon, Azergoth seems intimidating to many who see him. A thick hide of shimmering blue scales covers his entire body. His thick legs support a mighty scaled torso, and two enormous leathery wings are folded on his back. A long, flattened snout sports row upon row of razor-sharp teeth, and the glint in his saucer-sized eyes speaks of an ancient and formidable intellect. Like so many creatures in our world, his looks may deceive. While it remains true that nearly all dragons have an inherent evil streak, this blue dragon proves to be something different all together. Rather than following the path of his kin, the blue dragon has adopted the peaceful ways of Tranquility. The following is a quote from the dragon himself; "It is through my teachings that I shall spread the way of Tranquility throughout these lands. Violence will be no more. Hatred will be no more. We will all embrace our brothers and sisters, be it a child of Chayesh, or that of Koevhar."
