THE EMPIRE, CAOMHNOIRI, MIRUVHOR, KING PART I [Spring 1943]
____
| | \ uke Leothyre Corimak, Sir Tarsonis Meridius, Ralin, and Taeg |
| | | Greenheart attended a Moot recently in which controversial |
| | | topics were briefed and discussed in great depth. For many |
| |___/ years, the Castle and the Watchers have been at odds despite |
a more dangerous and common foe, the Nexus and the Family
which rules the underbellies of the East. While the Empire is
fully convinced of maintaining an established rule in Miruvhor,
what with the Maxim posted on every gate, both the Castle and Taeg
agree that matters are out of Marshall Belderon's hands. While
the Marshall has been extremely successful in the day to day
application of the Law in case-by-case scenes, the assembled were
not convinced that removing the White Wolf presence, including
banners and graffiti, would be possible until the Marshall spear-
heads a formal campaign against the Syndicate Family and drives
them out of Miruvhor completely.

The Duke, however, was not fully capable in reconciling the will
of the Castle to the will of the Watchers, as Taeg repeatedly
made claims to destroy Val Miran and allow Gaia to take back what
is hers -- completely ignoring the fact, of course, that in Taeg's
own doctrine, Val Miran's inhabitants would all be natural, living
children of Gaia themselves since the time the Val Miran officials
removed its presence of guilds practicing dark magic. While a
truce was informally arrived at, the Duke and Taeg could not come
to a visible agreement on a means of peace for Val Miran, and the
subject was repeatedly steered back to the problem of Drkshtyre
forest.

Disgust for Zoichan was voiced openly by all parties.

Lykiss's signature appeared on a contract which would end the war
between the Knights and the Syndicate, but it was obvious by the
nature of the meeting that the Duke will only seek peace with the
Family when they evacuate Miruvhor and stop "tainting the city".
