The Inverted Circle

Religious Studies · by Academician Mathicus Flon

"So, I asked myself - 'What is the circle?' The answer is layered and endless, incomprehensible to all. The circle is a veil and a foundation both, opening like the pupil of an eye around everything, like honey running equally in all directions off the top of an egg; like that ring of red light that clings to your retina after staring at the sun. Spiritually, it is a closed mind coming to the truth and splitting. allowing light to spill in and cleanse it.

"The circle itself represents Nercuros, and the disc of Balance. Extremists would say that this circle will one day encase the entire firmament, or in the least possible case, wreath all information and bind it. They would claim that opinion will be eradicated by universal like-mindedness. I say otherwise. I say that true satisfaction does not come from learning all, but destroying all there is to learn. The circumference of the circle grows as we learn more, unveiling new questions that we may never find the answers to! Why not step backwards into total serenity and oblivion? Allow every care to vanquish itself, becoming void, and the circle will shrink smaller and smaller until it becomes the essence of the creation of good and evil itself.

"When that happens, the circle will not grow to encase the planet sphere, but rather erase it from the fabric of knowledge, slowly, opening like the pupil of an eye. Soon, feelings of greed and hatred will be gone. The passion for exploration, the fight for fame, as well as the absolution of pride, will disintegrate and disappear into the darkness of space, never to be heard of again.

"Then, finally, where the planet once was, there will be a glassy orb in space, a hole leading to perfection - absolute nothingness; Gray, void of time, space, and matter, begging to be filled with raw, boundless information. All of us will become like Gods, free and everlastingly content to manipulate the universe - by that time, these words will mean nothing. Emotions such as love, hate, sadness, or worry, will be ours to reform.

"Let us not commence, but in stead, refrain from acting upon the lust of us, and act upon training our minds to absorb all things."
