Faulch's Folly of Fate
I lay upon my bed and watch the dust within the moon beams, That pierce the tattered curtains that are fraying at the seams. I pondered then what might have been and wondered what lay ahead, But I knew a man cant live his dreams just lying there in bed.
Then and there I had made a choice but did not know it yet, For many weeks I did not sleep, worried sick about regret. One afternoon there came a sound, a crash as loud as thunder, The city guards were crying "raid" and the gate reduced to lumber.
For the City! For the Bastion! and for the People of the Light! I drew my sword then donned my shield and headed out to fight. See Val Miran she took me in when I was but a furry whelp, So when her children cried out for it, I could not deny the help.
The raid was ended quickly and when I saw the orcs were gone
I sheathed my bloody weapon, and the shield that I had donned Full of bloodlust and emotions such as pride, hatred, and zeal Full of love for Val Miran I headed off to see Ameile.
Ameile it seemed would crush my dreams that day there in the alley She was not mean. She would not speak to a feral from the valley. Some day perhaps shell change her mind and talk to me a while, But until that day, if I pass her way, Ill just tip my hat and smile.
