Storm giant strength!

What do you all think about switching storm giant's str (23) with ogre's str (24)?

That way, the giants would be the strongest races in the game

Agreed. Just that ogres just got gimped in the latest change. So maybe wait and see what happens to ogres first...

Just to clear something up.

Ogres should still heal much faster than any other race. However, the days of 300-400 hp for one tick of sleep are gone.

Once I regened 380 hp just resting. I thought that was a bit insane, but I never saw 300-400hp while asleep after that, usually 200 which is still better than any other race I've played.

Ah.. Then you were gimped way before the changes.. Sleeping could be easily between 300-400.. Camped I have done anywhere between 400-700

Yup ogres are the healing champs, and especially if they had anything that helped them to heal....

Wow, I'd say that's a really good change with the ogers, but I think I'd still be down with 24 for storm giant strength. And 18 for mino dex...

I'd be cool with an all-around damage resist on minos, thick hide or something.

Put stormie strength back where it belongs. How ogres got to be stronger I have no clue.

ANYTHING to buff elemental giants is good. because the way they all are now, they are virtually unplayable. sure, they function well as a "hey i think i'll stomp this guy's butt with my giant hitroll because he happens to be a target of opportunity )))"

but in reality they spend their short lives trying to not get creamed by mental spells and their absolutely glaring vulns (fire giant). elemental giants are really tough to play.

I am pretty much sure that FGs haven't changed since my buddy H&R played Nortak. He could manage...

But IF you wanna pimp up giants, I say give them +1 size. They SHOULD be larger than ogres and minotaurs.

Talking about giving Storms a bump, not FGs. They don't need a size increase anyways IMHO. Think of it like this, they're large, yes, bigger than Ogres and Minotaurs, but what's to say that they aren't only like a foot higher, or even two feet higher? They're technically not even really defined in the game really as far as I've ever seen, the game simply goes with three different sizes and quite frankly I'm rather happy with those three sizes that are pretty standard for regular races. If Giants got ANOTHER +1 to size added on, their already pain in the *** bash/bodyslam will become the next fad AGAIN and they'll just go after Halflings/Gnomes and any other small races they can do so to. Only thing we can hope is the class has trip and trip locks instead. Giants as a whole don't need **** added to them, Storm Giants though should be beefed in some way, they can't touch wood after all and a lot of staffs are made of such which makes specific staffs they can wield the only possible choices. Bumping up their strength by one would at least make the giants the strongest races in the game, and at the same time maybe even make people play them more often. I wouldn't mind seeing a wider array of classes they could be either.

Size isn't just height, it's mass. Giants are taller than ogres, but ogres are wider. I think of the beasts who opened the gates to Mordor in LOTR. Also incredibly strong.

Stormies need something, not sure what it is. Maybe take away the mental vuln, since they're the smartest giants.

Well I would like to see ogre intelligence reduced to 15. Then you can leave the str as is. Something that can hardly speak shouldn't be smarter then 40% of the other races.

Intelligence and wisdom are two different things. I believe Virigoth explained it once why Ogres had such a high intelligence, but a low wisdom, but for the life of me I can't recall. I think Ogres got toned down kind of nice really in the last change, it makes being a mage a lot easier fighting them as you can usually outheal them now if you have the proper cures and they don't.
