Savnt, I was assuming maximum damage possible, for the sake of this discussion.
Jet stream is a useful spell, but as long as its raining and outdoors, you don't need to create a spring. Call lightning is still, in almost all cases, better.

Well, I have never had much skill in being an invoker, truth be told. I don't like it. But I do recall how those skilled ones killed me.
I remember, Cylandas always started out with call lightning until he realized I would remove armor when fighting him. It always ended up, he would jetsteam my arse off. Also, sidenote, I've always assumed that the chances of the temperature and raining combination needed was rare... so I just saw creating the spring as necessary.
I was actually going along with your argument, Raargant. The high 300 in damage is actually a 1 in 18 chance. Usually, you are looking at much lower, due to the characters luck influencing his dice rolls... and the fact that we only get high dice rolls when we don't need them. Hellstream/dispel combo is sort of a waste of time, unless you are trying to make people who are decked not want to fight you.
Have to say with an ogre ranger I didn't find invokers to be much of a problem. They can only hurt you once per round. Who cares? Just use sanctuary and a couple of heavy weapons and knock the crap out of them.
Celerity: Zerk vs invoker is not a hard battle for the zerk. The dispel/auto-rage thing is not an issue as the zerk's first command will be rage. Carry sanc pills incase you are dispelled. A zerk will put 200-400 damage into a sanc'd invoker once raged. I haven't met an invoker who could stand up to that kind of damage.
Firestorm blind works against the invokre since panic will up the damage a zerk puts out considerably.
I found haymaker to be a very reliable way of removing spells - especially sanctuary. It is not the 'lucky' once in a while win that you make it out to be. Its a staple tactic of the class.
Warriors vs invoker is a harder battle. They have no way to remove the invoker spells and do not have the access to extra damage from rage. Assuming the same equipment the berzerker has access to a lot more hit/dam via rage than the warrior. Not to mention haymaker.
IMHO most players do better with warriors the berzerkers because berzerkers severely disadvantaged when fighting melee classes. Even using haymaker to take sanctuary off a warrior there were several times I was outmeleed using a powergripped polearm by an unsacn'd warrior.
When it comes to fighting c/c's though, berzerkers have it all over warriors.

Any decent invoker can hit you twice a round.
