Dark Knights

I realize that malform is so powerful that it needs the counterbalance of being difficult to achieve high power. But with the average ability of the Pbase much higher, even some vets and elites will be having problems getting them up there. (Given they are not out picking off every newbie and person they have ranks on)

Another reason Dark-Knights are so hard to get strong...Unless you are really good at PK' date=' you won't be able to kill enough people to level up those malforms. Gone are the days of endless fields of newbs to slaughter and get your malform up to level 10 in 3 hours.[/quote']

In the words of UC:

Just kill WM inductees. What are they going to do about it?

L-A

PS - yes, it does take more than 3 hours. I think it took me 2.5 weeks of 4-6 hour days to get my two very strong malforms - and it would take more kills now than it did then. If you are not willing to put in some effort, don't bother casting the spell.

Hey....

I miss UC

shrug I've played sooo many dark-knights. My first character was a dark-knight.

I've never seen them to be any good (though I haven't played one since Malform Weapon was raised....dang hard enough to keep people from sacrificing it before 40 and I liked leveling it on my way up when I was bored) and I've noticed that you have to worry about your melee first. ALWAYS need that good hit/dam. And dirt kicking.

I don't know. I can't think of anything they need. Besides a lessening of that XP penalty. They're just not good enough in my opinion to warrant it. Maybe 200 or 225.

And I've never played one past 43 or 44...not that there was ever much to get in skills/spells beyond that.

The thing with lowering exp penalty is that they have a massive power spike up until pinnacles can fight them. Charm person, mals, afflictives and great melee make them beastly up to the low to mid 40s.

The XP penalty is there to keep all the level 30 human dk rank sitters to pick at the hunting parties at too low levels, I think.

I wonce had a agnostic DK at 50.

Goodie. How fun.

I wish going agnostic/atheist with a dk didn't screw you over so much...

At 30 it doesnt

I'm a bit confused as to the whole agnostic/atheist thing. An atheist warrior will warcry "Creator, bless this servant of your cause!" or something along those lines. Doesn't doing so technically acknowledge the presence of a higher being, this "creator". If you were truly atheist you would not call for blessings from a higher being because you do not believe they exist.

EDIT: Although I suppose in FL you have to ackowledge the presence of the immortals of other religions because they'll come and slay you if you're naughty. So then it makes even less sense for them to worship creator because it is an intangible being.

Well, you see, when an atheist does that warcry of his, he's just calling to his mama....

I can see an agnostic shouting to the creator for a blessing, but I think an atheist should yell something unrelated to any diety, maybe something to the effect of "I am so and so, hear me roar!" Just because you see so called gods out there it doesnt mean you have to believe they are divine. An athiest can believe that they are simply mortals who have found a way through might or magic or both to become more powerful than the average hero.

Yea, that's what I meant, they have to acknowledge they exist, because they're there. But they believe they've just superceded other mortals in power.
