Psionicists

I know I may be heckled and everything else under the sun for the suggestion, but I like it anyways. I say return psionicists to the class of old (still not sure why they were changed, and if it was because they were too strong, which I doubt, then with some tweaks). They could either stay a qclass, or be returned to their former status as a normal, every day class. I loved the old class, and I think most people would agree that the new version isn't exactly the most sought after prize.

In my last 5 projects, I have come across one...compared to hordes of undead, demons, two vampires, and a lich. Psions don't seem like they're worth the trouble to me.

I don't know what the old school psi class was like, but from my limited experience with the current one I can see some very limiting factors to their strength. Experienced players seem to have no trouble with them. However, I cannot conclude anything because perhaps we just need to see a player take full advantage of what all the class has to offer.

Often I see with qclasses, a player willing to put in the time to master the mysteries of that class finds themself doing quite well.

It actually inspires me to try one for myself. If I had more time I probably would. From the few people I know that have tried them, however, they mostly agree to the same factors contributing to their lack of effectiveness.

I find their skillset very interesting, and containing a great deal of potential. If they need anything, its just a slight mechanical adjustment to get them the last few steps over the hump and into the power a qclass should have.

I'm sure if the past psionics have given their feedback to immortals on how the class plays, it would go towards a good cause. I assume the changes were tested before being implemented, but if not, perhaps an immortal and/or someone considered very pk savvy should play one to the edge and keep notes on where they are strong/weak and successes and failures, etc.

They probably aren't. I've heard of one path thats ENTIRELY USELESS.

Still I want one. I'd bother trying to apply, were I to know I had a chance in hell

I can promise you with some rp and even a glimmer of pk ability you will have a chance, but the quest is a doozy........and the heavens are usually full so we can watch the folly of morts trying to finish it

Hehe. I <3 Belegriel, with his eternal hatred of everyone on this forum, and a perpetual loathing for everything they stand for. It's encouraging.

So someone go make one and show everyone what they can really do. I'm eager to see one make an impact.

By this time next month, I hope I can say that I got run over by that new psi...they are overpowered!

guh ive been offline too long.

and i have trouble enough remembering the normal quests.

sitting mastering everything to 100% just to be considered a master of your own body and mind lol.

I couldnt pk to save my own irl life though. Not that I have one.

Haha.

The old school psi was what sucked me into FL and effectively put my life on pause for about two years. I wouldn't mind seeing them as a normal class again.

I want one really, REALLY bad. I mean, REALLY bad. I don't think you understand how badly I want one. Let's just say I really, really want one. The only problem is the classes that can turn into them. Monks are tough, invokers are boring, and my last battlemage got slaughtered. I would love an illithid psi, but I've played multiple necros and got slaughtered every time, though never at fifty. I'm just terrible at them, even though I love illithids.

Heh, I can't even find the shrines.

Took me and a few friends about 2-3 years to get them all, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I know where like three of them are, but I don't even know how to get the quest, so it's a moot point, hah.

It's pretty easy to get the quest...

i have that same problem he does

i just plain damned dont do well with pure magi

i like them rp wise and magic wise

but pk wise ill be slaughtered. and training wise

its long its tedious its boring and you have to do a lot of outta the way hideyhole type stuff. haha.

The ironic thing is that I played one back in my AR days when they were considered all around gimped, and rocked the house. Had a blast. And I'm probably ten times better now then I was back then. It just seems like they're right up my alley, much more so than normal mages.

AR psionics are a far cry from what I have seen here currently. I played one on AR as well and did very well. I recall fighting and beating lvl 50 necros, warriors, and others when I was only lvl 43.

Like I said, the class has a lot of potential. It did on AR, and it has as much or more here I think. I honestly can't wait till one comes along that really finds a groove and people start thinking they are overpowered. Situations like that really let you know that some people put the 'skill' in skillset, and not the other way around.

I really wish I had the time to made a psionic as well, but I just can't have that many characters at once, hehe. Maybe I'd suck and eat my words, but I'd love the chance to see first hand.

As I said. I wish I were worthy. -sniffle-

I like the sound of a Psionicist, and I had an idea in mind to make one for my next character.

That won't be an accurate gauge of their strenth when it comes to PK however.

If you don't have right eq info, common sense, and good chasing/running skills, it will always be an uphill battle for a psionicist. Just wait till someone actually brings out the true potential of the psionicist and I bet there will be groaning again.
