Psionicists

If the "true potential" of a class can only be brought out by 5% of people who play them... then the class needs work. In my opinion.

I never did my work when I was in class.

Your mom never did her work in class.

Fiere, are you like my arch-forum enemy?

Your mom taught the class on how to work... work them streets boy, you know what I'm sayin'?

Only when it comes to your mom, for some reason. I just see your posts and get this urge to make Mom jokes. But hey, everybody's gotta have an arch-enemy, right?

Took me and a few friends about 2-3 years to get them all' date=' so I wouldn't worry too much.[/quote']

It took me two weeks to search the entire 2.0 new realms with a lvl 30 character. I found all but one shrine at that point. Its really just a matter of time and effort.

I don't know about psi's - having not played one nor seen the skillsets I'm not sure what they are capable off. They looked like they would have something to offer when I last fought one.

See, but like Fiere, we had no idea what they were for, and kinda just ran into a bunch, before actually going and searching them all out.

Took me about the same time.. Just did it at pinn though....

EDIT: yeah and I only bothered in 3.0

I have the old skillset list for old school Psi's.

Its neat, and I bet a lot of the spells are still in use for new psis.

Last psi you probably fought was me. And you had a cleric. Psi vs Cleric is a VERY VERY VERY uphill battle.

Infact, possibly damn near impossible to win

old psi's were the absolute bomb and there was no reason that was publicized when they were taken offline. few people played them, and the few that did had a lot of fun. my guess is that a certain level 45 skill (the last skill in the set) was being abused too much in OOC fashion, and that's only a guess because like i said, no reason was even given to players as to why they were taken offline. i mean you could just tweak that one skill if that was the reason, and there couldnt have been any other reason to take psi offline to the public if the reason was abuse. and it wasnt even a big deal, it's just like asking some mage to do vaguely similar things with locate.

The last psi I fought was you - but as a berserker. The skills I saw used were powerful (and nicely thought out ) but my race/class/cabal/eq combo at that point simply gave me enough power to deal it out harder and faster (even as a mental vuln race).

That isn't to say I thought it was a weak class I faced - plenty strong enough from what I saw.

There was another psi I faced as a cleric/zerk - like you said, with cleric very hard, with zerk (unless you screw it up) I had enough raw power to hammer through. Once again - the class seemed very viable.

so L-A, you are saying that someone could pk as well with a psi as with another mage-type?

But I still wonder why the transition was made in the first place, and would love to see the old class again.

Maybe I'll make a psi (I did beta-test one, boy do they take patience) and then I can stop complaining without enough info.

Yes, the PK power is there (and I've seen less than half the psi skills). Unsure about the actual class power ups and downs though....

Grish: I believe it was to give the class a revamp to make them something 'special' I think someone also said it gives neuts a qclass.

L-A

Institute conjurers, or alchemists, and give me back my old psis!

And there are way more druids than psis anyways, neuts have a qclass.

but the druid is the goods healer or evils shaman, that doesn't count.

a druid can not, in anyway equal either of those classes in group usefulness though...no "reliable" healing...there on a leash as far as where they can travel...and there one spell a group loves them for like cleric/healer has requisites...sure they make great self clerics, and quite good solo hunters, but i will always choose any clerical class to group with over a druid on simplicisty and ease. besides, you want to lump only one neutral qclass, when there are several options each for lightwalkers and darkwalkers alike?

p.s. and i love druids, and played a few to 50, so this is not a knock on the class at all in any way. they just limited to how usefull they really are.

I fought a berserker.... was that when my psi was Savant, or afterwards? If afterwards then its probably no comparison, I would have had mithril armor as I got idle purged, and just logged on every now and again to see what was going on.

When fully equipped I didn't really have any hassles takin down berserkers or warriors. Whaled on Mhaladors decked out warmaster elder/leader. Mmmm, tasty ogre.

Actually, after having a read through some logs, Psi's are halfway powerful. I killed alot of people in **** eq even. HOWEVER, anyone that has the ability to heal, or even worse, has spell turning, is basically impossible for a psi to kill. From my logs it looks like I might have defeated 1 or 2 clerics. And those ones seemed to be metal suspectible ones, like Osiburn (firegiant cleric)
