I say, to the most extent. However, I wouldn't say they are any stronger then any other mages against any particular foes. They had a maaaajor weakness against classes able to cure or use spell turning though. Major weakness, as in, making it damn near impossible to win. If perhaps PSI spells bypassed spell turning, or they had a spell to disable spell turning for say x hours, then it'd be a viable fight. I think (what was his name, illithid psi beta) skills as they were, minus the stupidly overpowered lagging ability and the buggy other abilities (making you die numerous times, basically an instadeath if cast on you, yes, i suffered to its overpowered wrath), would have been more along the lines of equal power wise. I don't see why there certain spellset they can use against most suspectibilities was changed. It was fine as it previously was.
