All around you colossal buildings rise up. The smell of commerce is in the air and the citizens of Val Miran bustle with activity. Horse carts haul trade items for sale in the Eastern and Western districts, and travelers and adventurers alike walk the streets in search of new challenges. Brrrrrrrrr. Shufei's entire body shivers uncontrollably ' who goes there? Alehkzan says timidly, 'Please...no... Alehkzan twitches uncontrollably, 'Bernath, make it stop...' Alehkzan is suddenly jerked back as if pushed or pulled by some unseen force. Your view through your helmet is clouded by your breath. Heureush narrows his eyelids as his eyes begin to brighten. Shufei shakes you by the shoulders 'Snap out of it. Alehkzan cries, 'Please, hel...' His words are cut off suddenly as he finds himself unable to speka. As if he had wings, Alehkzan is tossed into the air. Bad intentions fill the Square as he is thrashed violenty from west to east by an unseen force. Shufei looks at Heureush. Heureush peers around himself intently. Heureush shakes his head and says 'This bad. This very bad' Heureush shakes his head and says 'This bad. This very bad' Shufei looks at your body as it is thrashed from left to right 'Oh my. Heureush sits down and thinks deeply. Screams fill the Square as Alehkzan cries out, his helpless body suspended above the fountain. The Golden Banner of Val Miran flaps triumphantly in the city's glorious winds. Heureush narrows his eyes even further and takes a step towards the fountain. Shufei yells 'UNHAND HIM YOU COWARD! WHAT HAS HE EVER DONE TO YOU! Maddening laughter echoes from the fountain as Alehkzan is tossed into it. *SPLASH* A snarl curls Heureush's lips as he watches you fall into the water. Shufei peers around himself intently. 'THIS NOT RIGHT!' Heureush screams as he rushes to the fountain. The laughter fades into silence and is soon gone. Alehkzan's hand can be seen on the fountain rim. Shufei helps up you 'Are you alright? Heureush closely scans the area as if something is still wrong. Water dripping from his clothes and blood streaming from a gash on his forhead, Alehkzan manages to get out of the fountain with Shufei's assistance. His armors appear to pulsate rapidly, as if speaking with Shufei ' can you speak? Heureush glances back at Shufei and you, looing you over and wrinkling his brow. Alehkzan manages a few words - blood trickling onto his lips. 'W...what happened? Shufei Watching your movements, Shufei says 'Perhaps you should slow down a bit? Alehkzan collapses onto the street. 'I don't feel so well. Shufei continues to help you move about, 'We'd say, you had quite the tumble there. Heureush quickly strides over to you and Shufei and looks from one to another as if confused about what to do. Heureush throws his hands up in the air as if in anger. 'How fight when enemy can't see!' Alehkzan rubs his stomach, his wet clothes have produced goosebumps that you can see on his forearms. Shufei turns to Heureush 'That is a good question. Heureush looks to Shufei as if longing for some kind of answer. Shufei seemingly whispers in two separate voices ' a question neither of us may have an answer to. Alehkzan weakly drinks from the bottle of milk. You drink milk from a bottle of milk. Heureush sighs deeply and reaches slowly for his blade. Pausing a moment, he relaxes and calms. Shufei looks upon his bottles 'You should be fine. It is afterall only milk. Shufei chuckles politely. Heureush quickly snaps a glance at Shufei, obviously put out at an enemy he can't fight. You tell Volgathras 'I've had it destroyed, yet this curse remains! You did this! ' Heureush returns his heated gaze to you. Alehkzan sighs audibly, 'I am sorry, whatever I've done. You both look frustrated. [Volgathras] 'Oh? I did? Perhaps I am more powerful than even I knew, to place a curse unbeknownst to myself.' Shufei sighs 'More helpless is the correct wording. 'Not know what do, that why Heureush mad. Know enemy around, but not be able do anything' Heureush says as he nods at Shufei. You tell Volgathras 'Furious.' Turning to the dragon on his shoulder, Alehkzan remarks, 'We'll find our way soon enough Bernath. I can feel something calling for us.' [Volgathras] 'How delicious.' Heureush stomps over to you and reaches down forcefully. Yet, when he grasps your arm, it seems gentle. [Volgathras] 'Your uncle would be proud.' Brak rides in. Brak gallantly tips his hat to you. Brak drinks water from a granite fountain. His armors appear to pulsate rapidly, as if speaking with Shufei ' looks at the darkness over the horizon 'with the day gone, perhaps we shall let you sleep the rest of the night away in peace. You tell Volgathras 'He will be once I have exterminated this vile beast of yours.' Heureush looks up into the sky. Brak yells out his warcry. Brak yells 'Lytholm, bless me with your power!' Shufei bows before Brak. Alehkzan sighs audibly, 'I just want to do as my Uncle taught me. Heureush nods to Brak, but keeps his focus on you. Brak says 'This one here is a lucky fellow.' Brak sits down and thinks deeply. Heureush offers a quick glance over his shoulder and nods at Shufei. Alehkzan sighs audibly, 'All I have ever done is live the pure example my Uncle taught me. Why is this happening to me. Alehkzan growls, 'I am so angry. Heureush suddenly calms and quickly moves to your side. Brak says 'It will get better little fellow' Looking down at you, Heureush says 'Not let anger take. Trust Heureush, him know' Brak slaps alehkzan on the back again Ringing with holy fervor the temple of light bell announces high noon. Shufei nods at Heureush smiling gently 'Well said. Alehkzan sighs, 'What else is left when hope and faith have run out? Brak points to himself. You raise your eyebrow at Brak. Brak says 'Ill watch you!' Heureush shakes his head vigorously. 'Hope, Faith run out only when Alehkzan decide. Never before Brak says 'Cant be thrashed if brak holds ya still' Shufei sighs 'Never lose your faith Alehkzan. That is all we have when we believe we've lost it all. Heureush looks about at the everyone gathered and says 'See hope here. See faith here. See who gather round Alehkzan. It is extremely dark and very difficult to see. There is an ancient feel to this forest - as if this wooded dell has been around since the beginning of time. In the distance, you hear a battle cry and the clashing of metal, wood, and fire. [Exits: east west] The corpse of a crystal ooze is lying here. Heureush is here. Brak is here. A giant spider is here, waiting to suck your blood. A sapling is here, trying to find sunlight. Your cleave maims a blood-sucking spider! Your cleave devastates a blood-sucking spider! Your cleave MUTILATES a blood-sucking spider! You parry a blood-sucking spider's attack. A blood-sucking spider is DEAD!! You hear a blood-sucking spider's death cry. Brak says 'Breathe in.' Brak says 'Calm.' A shudder run through the forest, causing leaves to shake free from the trees overhead. Heureush peers around himself intently. Heureush says 'This bad' Brak says 'Anyone else feel that?' Brak says 'Cold.' Alehkzan sighs audibly, 'I fear I cannot control this. You twitch nervously. Brak says 'Brak no like cold!' Brak backs into alehkzan. Brak says 'Stand behind me.' Heureush suddenly focuses on Alehkzan and says 'Must! If give up hope, give up self' Ascreech pierces the early morning, a whispered cry as though from far away. Heureush suddenly looks about and draws his sabre. You yell 'You will not get the best of me, cursed being!' Brak yells out his warcry. Brak yells 'Lytholm, bless me with your power!' Heureush gets a wild look in his eyes. Brak says 'Do not let this thing take hold.' Something dark races by overhead! Brak looks upwards Brak moves everyone in closer. A mixture of panic and fear take over Alehkzan's face as he jerks his head in an attempt to follow the motion. Brak says 'Have to trust me fellows.' Brak says 'Move into huddle!' Heureush nods to Brak nervously and says 'You guard! Heureush stand!' The night is about to end. The sky is getting cloudy. Brak says 'You to giant.' Brak says 'We need all of us here.' Something rustles in the bushes nearby. Heureush backs slowly over to the huddle, but keeps his blade drawn. Brak draws his blades and swings toward the bush. Heureush gets a three-eyed root from a leather battle sheath. Heureush eats a three-eyed root. Heureush stops using a mithril shield of protection. Alehkzan growls, 'Have at you then! I grow sick of your games! Brak says 'Let it come!' Brak tightens his grip around the bone cane of Wohpat. Heureush glares to the bushes and grips his sabre tighter. A quiet voice whispers along the breeze: 'Missed me, missed me, now you've got to kiss me..' Heureush tightens his grip around a mithril sabre adorned with a tiamat's scale. The day has begun. Something giggles playfully. Brak says 'Brak kiss you!' Brak says 'With his blade!' Alehkzan attempts to draw his blade, but cannot. As if sealed by some sort of sorcery, it remains in his scabbard. Brak takes another swing into the bush. Brak shivers uncomfortably. Heureush glares all around and shouts. 'Brak, get back!' The sun rises in the east. Heureush yells out his warcry. Heureush yells 'The one god, I bring forth your fury!' Alehkzan grabs his halberd instead, but an unseen force knocks it to the ground. You drop a long halberd. You twitch nervously. Brak back into alehkzan trying to cover him completly. Alehkzan seems infuriated. 'DAMN YOU! LEAVE ME ALONE!! A girl walks in. Brak says 'Take him, must take me first!' 'This bad' Heureush says as he looks from the girl to you. Heureush peers intently at a girl. A girl steps from the shadows, wobbling up toward the men on shaky legs. Brak says 'You, little girl!' Brak says 'What you see in there?' A girl sniffles and whimpers, rubbing at her cheek. Grrrrrrrrrr....take that, a girl!!! A girl walks east. A girl walks in. Heureush slowly loosens his grip on the sabre and places it back in his sheath. Brak says 'Wait wait.' Brak says 'Just a little girl.' Heureush sheathes his weapon. You say 'No, kill it!' Brak says 'The girl?' Heureush peers at Alehkzan and says 'Eh? You say 'This is it! I can feel it's evil!' You snarl at her. Brak peers intently at a girl. A girl whimpers, shying from Alehkzan. Brak says 'This child?' Heureush looks from the girl to you and appears completely confused. Brak looks at a girl. Heureush says 'Heureush feel something wrong, but it girl?' A girl says 'I-I...' Brak says 'Brak ask you question little girl.' Heureush quickly interposes himself between the girl and you. Brak peers intently at a girl. Brak says 'Heureush, look into its eyes.' She has a cute little white skirt with red splotches and dots all over it. It almost looks like someone sprayed her with red paint. There is something funny about her eyes. A girl is in excellent condition. A girl lifts her little head, revealing pitch black eyes. Heureush says 'Hold Alehkzan. Anger just make make mistake' A girl says 'I see you.' Brak growls. You yell 'Help! I am being attacked by a girl!' A girl's gaze DISMEMBERS you! A girl is in excellent condition. A girl dodges your attack. Your punch misses a girl. A winged lightning dragon breathes forth a bolt of lightning! Your lightning bolt injures a girl. A girl's gaze MASSACRES you! A girl has a few scratches. You grizzle your teeth and look mean. A girl has a few scratches. Heureush then slowly turns and looks at the little girl. You sure are BLEEDING! Heureush looks at a girl. A girl has fled! A girl walks east. You bleed profusely -- making a horrible mess! Brak growls. Brak walks east. Brak walks in. Heureush snarls angrily. Brak yells 'Where you go!' A quiet chuckle whispers along the breeze. Brak says 'Alehkzan, get behind me.' Heureush says 'Something wrong about her!' You say 'I...I told you...' Heureush draws his weapon. Brak says 'He citizen!' Alehkzan collapses as the pain takes over his mental state. Something is thrown the the darkness, and rolls toward you. Alehkzan clambers to his feet, still obviously shaken from the attack. Brak says 'Show yourself coward!' Brak says 'Brak smash little girl!' You say 'Yes, yes!! KILL IT!!' Heureush glares all around himself then focuses back. A girl appears in a swirling mist. Brak yells 'Help! I am being attacked by a girl!' A longbow's pierce DISMEMBERS a girl! A girl is blinded by the dirt in her eyes! Brak's kicked dirt scratches a girl. Heureush peers intently at a girl. A girl giggles. Brak's digestion LACERATES a girl! You grizzle your teeth and look mean. Brak lights some dark black leaves and smokes it. Brak is surrounded by a white aura. Brak says 'Come now!' Brak's digestion DISMEMBERS a girl! A girl utters the words, 'oculowaiyucandus'. A girl's torments *** DEMOLISH *** her! You say 'KILL IT! YES!!' Brak's digestion MUTILATES a girl! A girl trips Brak, sending him to the ground. The voice returns, mirth evident in the tone; 'I suppose I'll have to call my sister...' Brak growls. Brak says 'Heureush, if brak fall help alehkzan to town.' 'Listen Heureush and stand back! Guard friend!' Heureush says with authorty. Brak says 'Protect him there.' Heureush nods. Brak readies himself. Heureush says 'Heureush have. Brak stand guard friend!' Blood seeps through Alehkzan's clothing which is still damp from the fountain. 'I do not think I can hold on much longer.' he says. Silence prevails, the normal utterences of the forest muted. Heureush says 'This bad' Brrrrrrrrr. Brak says 'We protect you' Brak opens his wide arms covering everyone. Heureush steps out from under the cover and glares all around. Brak scans all around. A girl flies in. Brak growls at a girl. Better leave the room before the fighting starts. Brak looks at a girl. Brak says 'You!' Heureush peers intently at a girl. Heureush says 'Let Heureush handle' Heureush peers intently at a girl. A girl steps in to the clearing again, clutching something in her arms. Is that... a head? One more not hurt!' A girl absently twirls the locks of hair on the head in her grasp. It looks decidedly feminine - prehaps elvish. Heureush gets a wild look in his eyes. Alehkzan bleeds profusely from his wounds. 'You won't take me alive wench' he manages to say through gargling blood. A girl says 'He belongs to someone else.' Brak says 'Oh?' Heureush says 'ALehkzan belongs self!' A dark laughter echos from somewhere deep within Alehkzan. Brak peers at you intently. A girl grins, revealing rows of sharp teeth. You twitch nervously. Heureush yells 'The one god, I bring forth your fury!' Brak says 'I take the boy with me to city.' A girl says 'You... you are His friend.' Heureush nods at Brak. Heureush says 'This not good' A girl jabs her dagger-like nail in to the little doll. Heureush peers around himself intently. Heureush stands up. Brak looks at you. Heureush gets a wild look in his eyes. Spouts of blood BURST from Heureush's nose! Heureush sits down and rests. Shufei rides in. Heureush quickly reaches up to his nose and wipes the blood away. A girl glares at Shufei. Brak says 'Hold firm heureush' A girl says 'More friends?' Brak sits down and rests. Brak rubs the blood from his face. Shufei nods slightly. 'That we are. A girl jabs her finger in to the doll again. Glaring at the blood, Heureush says 'Think Heureush not bleed before? Shufei eats a Multicolored Pill. Shufei's spell injures him. Brak peers over his shoulder to check on alehkzan His chest raises violently upwards as the rest of his body remains pinned to the ground. Almost as if something was trying to break out of Alehkzan's chest. Shufei seemingly whispers in two separate voices ' what's happening to him? Heureush shudders slightly and rolls his shouldres as if to shrug something off. Brak says 'Was queen here!' A girl glares at Heureush. Heureush says 'Have do better little girl!' Brak says 'May have hurt boy.' Heureush yells out his warcry. Heureush yells 'The one god, I bring forth your fury!' Brak says 'Alehkzan holds strong.' Heureush yells 'Kumspytch be bad time' A second voice screams from Alehkzan's mouth. 'You're all going to die if you do not leave this place! Heureush grumbles and growls. You wonder what's wrong... A girl says 'Leave the boy. It is only I ho keeps my sister at bay.' Shufei gets a bottle of milk from a green linen knapsack. You twitch nervously. Brak says 'The boy comes with us.' Shufei gives you a bottle of milk. Brak says 'As i have said.' Heureush says 'Think Brak, Heureush do pretty good job last, eh?' Brak says 'Him citizen!' Brak sits down and rests. Heureush scans all around. Brak says 'Your sister not scare me.' Heureush looks at you. His face twists and contorts, first smiling as the Paladin you once knew, but then it is taken over by an angry smirk. 'LEAVE!' Alehkzan yells. Brak says 'Brak made oath to innocents and i mean to keep it!' A girl giggles. Brak growls at a girl. Better leave the room before the fighting starts. A girl tilts her head as though listening for something. Heureush glances at Brak swiftly and says 'This bad. Get him town NOW!' Brak says 'Show those teeth one more time and brak going to knock them down throat.' A girl nods as though in response to some unheard command. Heureush says 'Not be anger fight in. That what they want!' Brak growls. Brak tries to steady alehkzan Heureush says 'Protect friend. Get him town!' Brak says 'Alehkzan!' A girl says 'Strength in numbers...' A girl says 'So... no more numbers.' Brak says 'Strength in bushes!' Heureush peers around himself intently. A girl snaps her little fingers. Brak growls. Brak disappears in a mushroom cloud. Heureush sheathes his weapon. A girl giggles. Heureush says 'Now this get worse!' Heureush yells 'Brak!' Shufei peers around in astonishment 'BRAK!? A girl raises her fingers again. A dark laughter echos from somewhere deep with Alehkzan. 'Eenie, meenie, miney moe...I wonder where Shufei will go...' *Snap!* Shufei disappears in a mushroom cloud. Heureush snarls angrily. A girl grins evilly. Heureush tightens his grip upon his sabre. A girl looks at Heureush. A girl says 'Your turn...' Heureush says 'Think Heureush back down eh?' A girl waves goodbye to Heureush. Heureush says 'Heureush come back Hear!' Heureush snarls angrily. Heureush grabs a hold of Alehkzan. Heureush disappears in a mushroom cloud. A girl giggles. Alehkzan grins. 'I was beginning to think I may have to listen to them for all eternity.' A girl canters her head toward you. And then she is gone. A girl leaves in a swirling mist. A second voice speaks from somewhere deep within Alehkzan. 'They will feel my anger...' Alehkzan looks at the dragon on his shoulder. 'I told you, Bernath. We are being called home. Our true home.'
