Post a couple quality of life changes you would like to see, don't rebuttals other people's ideas and keep useless comments to yourself. This thread should be easy for imms to read and pull ideas from to make gameplay smoother.
When someone becons you to follow the first thing everyone says is "allow me or you don't want followers', PLEASE have 'becon' turn off nofollow.
'Sends your weapon flying!' Should be updated to show your wield as 'sends a blackwatch sword flying!', I am and I'm sure everyone else is tired of picking up a piece of garbage or holding a red potion. Same goes with shield.
Replay tells etc should list the opposite direction and show newest first, why must we scroll the entire list when we just wanna see the last tell sent that was missed.
Also with replay, mine is constantly full and locked because it fills up instead of overwrites or kicks out the old. Please make it dump the old so we don't lose new stuff?
More timers, less IMM approvals. Isn't everyone sick of logging in to see if you got approved for something then logging out again because you weren't? Approvals kill gameplay where timers encourage/demand it, tell a player he needs 20 hours and he will play 20 hours, tell a player wait for an approval annnnd they will log on and off depending if 'x imm' is on.

Yes please.

I am not sure how your suggestion will fix the problem, since it's entirely up to the player on what he picks up after a disarm.

I am not sure what you are talking about, but currently, the newest tells are listed at the bottom. I use what you speak of very often myself and it's super convenient, since you don't have to scroll at all.

Agreed.

This has been discussed multiple times. Imms are against it, and the playerbase is for it.
I am not sure where I stand myself on this. If we had a completely fair, free of bias and super active IMM team, I would prefer it their way. But this is a free game and we are just humans, with our pros and cons, so I lean towards an automated system with IMMs supervising and interfering where they need to.
Beckon allowing nofollow to turn off would be amazing. I don't rank in groups often, but it would help a lot if it were implemented.
I feel it's more aesthetics than anything else you're wanting here. If you have a trigger set up for it, you can just change the trigger to grab the specific weapon you're using to grab it instead of the simplest form of "get 1.; wield 1." that I'm sure many of us already have.
Replay already lists the last thing said at the very end. If anything I wouldn't mind seeing all replay logs cleared after you use it the first time. This would fix your 4th issue which I think you were already thinking of it like that. This would prevent the logging of those forms of communication from eventually cutting off if the log is too long which literally means the last thing said isn't logged into a buffer at all.
I agree that wait times should be shortened. Without timers now to send in your applications you can easily hit 15 to apply and PK at those levels is significantly easier than later levels. I would say no more than 3 days waiting for anything. By the time I apply I've usually already had a few journals put in, a history, and a PK. By that time I'm usually already 30 hours into a character, and if that's not enough to approve or deny a character that just seems odd to me. I understand that training is awful to watch, but with RP logs, journals, and other ways to prove RP, there's no reason anyone should have to wait that long if there's a minimum of a History, 3 journals, and a RP log on them.
I understand why someone would wish to remove many areas, but I feel by removing them also only goes to feed into people who choose PK over RP every time. If anything, many areas just need facelifts for the items. Finding people isn't too difficult with the areas we do have, but by giving areas that aren't visited often added purpose (quests, new weapons/armor, and shifting of Cabals possibly) would offer more people the chance to explore them more.
(A) Added RP pets would be interesting at cheaper costs. Varying sizes of animals for instance could change the price for them. A kitten for instance could be 1RP point since you're literally buying RP with RP points, I don't understand why they're anything more than 10RP points.
(B) Dragons would be great to offer within the Bazaar as well instead of for just a good description. The descriptions could be tiered to give you 1RP point for just a basic approval which would allow you to buy a Dragon. If it's considered pretty good, it's 3RP points which will buy you the dragon, and you can upgrade it to have armor (not the spell, just the stats they'd normally have). If it's exceptional and it's what you'd normally be given in terms of gaining a dragon, you get 5RP points. This gets you the Dragon, the armor, and special properties added to it that has it act like how they normally do with casting spells mid combat and such. This ensures that everyone can have a dragon since now they have their own place in your EQ slots.
(C) A command that allows you to submit an automated note to Imms to approve a Custom Warcry similar to dcheck. Allow this to be submitted at any point after the character gains the skill rather than limit it to just at 50. It gives the game more flavor, and prevents the abuse of being allowed to just have anything without approval.
(D) Newbie channel isn't ever taken away. Everyone should have it, by having it taken away at this stage of the game. It has been around over half of my life now, and it doesn't make sense we have to apply for it just to ensure we can help newer players in the game. With fewer players online, and most often there's only one or two characters online who have it since most are at level 30+ means we're being counter productive in our goal to reach out to newer players.
(E) Erase the need to do a detailed creation and just ask what perks players would want instead. I usually just hit 1 repeatedly until I get to the perks because that part tends to be redundant.
(F) More options for alternatives to rare/unique EQ than what we have. Rather than just 2 items being similarly good with very minute tweaks to such, have 5 that can benefit varying classes better than others.
(G) Add in a max quests line in the Quest log. If you're a certain race it'll obviously mean there are more quests out there for them, but if I have 60+ quests, if I see there's still 30 more out there to discover I'll be driven to find more of them. It doesn't mean it gives you clues, just a gauge on where you're sitting at relative to what you could have once you've gotten them all. Exclude quests for becoming a Psi, Lich, and so on.
(H) More classes can use materials to build things. Bards use it for their instruments, perhaps we could do something similar to other classes with their initial start up weapons. Instead of adding hit/dam though you can add spellforge to them instead that doesn't tip the balance, just offers things like 'armor', 'faerie fire', and 'faerie fog' into the mix. You can get the proficiency up by adding to those weapons, but nothing higher than 75% or it could be based off the spell in question. Better spells will have a much lower peak %.
(I) More races. Sure we have quite a few already, but it would be interesting to have more hard coded in rather than just using the restring race option.
(J) Warrior Lores tweaked slightly to appeal to more people to choose outside of exotic lore, shield lore, staff lore, and whip lore. Focused bash for instance could cause a chance to blind, weaken, or plague people.
I'm sure there are a lot more I could think of, but this is about where I will stop.
I could've swore I had already tried that command a week ago or so after being booted because it spammed the game. Though I could have very well misspelled it too without catching it.
I agree with this. I feel like a lot of us did a lot of growing up here. If it has to go because it's not original can it just get a facelift but keep the main design?
The Emerald Forest (now Everwild) has gotten one facelift already. Now I'm not saying that there can't be another, but it has been changed once. Unlike some of the other stock areas (fairly sure they're stock) like the Tainted Valley or the Flying Citadel or the High Tower of Sorcery or the Isle of Exile, that have not had a facelift since I've started.
Even if they're not stock, the point remains that there are stock areas that need updating or rewriting entirely. That alone is a monumental "To Do" list for Lloth.

As you can see, the area command provides more than just ranking information. We can see "who" built it. This should make it easier to know what would need changed.
As you can see, the list needs a little loving care. Here's to an overworked under appreciated staff. I hope you find time to play after the loads of work we pile on you.

Did not mean to derail.
Very Good Suggestion.
Maybe its the example, but I am not sure I am on board here. The blackwatch sword will never be on the ground, and you will always be picking up garbage. It is nodrop.
3. Original replay intentions and current use of replay for RP purposes could use separate commands. So I agree here too.
Replay Clear as @Kyzarius said. If you play for extended periods, try replay, cut/paste, replay clear, periodically.
Just let me buy the approval with my RP. That is the purpose of the wait anyway is it not?
I guess it depends on what your definition of a facelift is.
If it references the original non-FL lore (such as a reference to Emerald Forest in Everwild, if such a reference exists), those need to be worked out. But..if it is keeps the spirit of the non-FL, fully reworked into FL's lore, that is fine.
So a hamlet near a magical forest is fine, but the -same- hamlet near a forest, not called Emerald, but referenced in game as a changed Emerald forest is not alright. It still has that reference to the non-FL roots. I'd simply get rid of all Emerald references and replace them with an ambiguous reference instead, in this case.
This is the distinction between "Everwild has overgrown Emerald Forest" and "Everwild has taken hold over this forest".
This is in an important distinction, because it separates FL from pre-FL. If my game has references to Midgaard or Thalos, you can't claim original content anymore. You have to change your claim to 'mostly original content.' Just like we aren't a custom code MUD, but an adaptation from DIKU/ROM.
I'd like to see FL reach that fully original threshold.
If it maintains the same balance, (eq, mob strength, but has cosmetic or minor tweaks), that is OK, but you really need to think if the pre-FL balance is still 'balanced' to today's FL, so I doubt you can keep much balance in the end from a stock area.
The Volcano doesn't reference S'handor Fortress, but it takes the same idea, in ambiguity, and creates a new area. The mountain erupted, old fortress gone, new, reworked, fully original area there. I don't need to reference S'handor at all in game. Unless I made a reference to Mt. Rainer (which would then need to be removed, but I think that was in the original note, not in the actual area).
Crystalmir Caverns is the remains of the flooded Solace city. Crystalmir was referenced in the old Solace area, and is a Dragonlance term, so probably should have been worked out of the area. The storm giants need to rename it at this point. So the area needs more work to become fully original, although that work is very minor.
The Halfling Hamlet does not mention the Shire at all, if I remember. Same concept, same theme, but fully original. Is it a rework or a new area? This is the level of 'reworking' we should strive for.
So in the end, yes I think several of our reworks need to take the last few steps to become wholly original (my own included). But I do believe they are very low priority compared to remaining stock areas.
Reworks of all types should be completed before any new areas are added.
Many stock areas can be simply removed because our world room count is much too large for our playersize.
At this point, we need to emphasize quality over quantity.
