Cabaled Healers and Standards

Because Viri's Healer Mandatum is not to be found, and many questions have arisen in the past months, the Immortal Staff wishes to make clear what is considered "proper" healer RP with regard to cabal standards.

Healers are expected to defend their cabal to their utmost ability as any other cabaled person would. They do NOT have to spare the life of the attacker, however, chasing him all over Virigoth's creation would be a bit out of line.

Healers are welcome to retrieve their cabal's standard if taken by an enemy. If their enemy, or enemies, come to defend, they are more than welcome to introduce them to me in the afterlife. Again, their task being to retrieve their standard, chasing said enemies all over Aabahran to kill them is going a bit far.

After discussion amongst the IMM staff, it is agreed that the spirit of healer RP would "prevent" them from taking an opponent's standard without violating their non-aggressive stance. Healers who continue down this road will find their Immortal interaction increased in a negative fashion. You are welcome to pursue this path in life, just don't come whining to any of us when things you don't like happen to you as a consequence of your choice.

You may ask the reasoning behind limiting a healer's ability to take standards, but not defend and retrieve. Simply put, defending one's standard and retrieving one that's been taken are actions not initiated by the healer. The healer is reactive in these scenarios, not proactive, and thus not aggressive.

The above rules of course apply only to non-undead. Healers may aggressively destroy undead at will without threat of negative consequence.

We invite any questions for the purpose of clarification. Please do not take this as an invitation for debate.

Healers who have aggressively taken standards in the past are forgiven past indiscretions in this area and will not receive any punishment for those actions as that just wouldn't be fair. Continuing to do so in the face of this mandate will, however, encounter corrective action.

Thank you!
