I was literally just trying to avoid getting killed by his swing damage, while keeping my crab in combat long enough for it to die and get him out of rage. The crab fleeing messed up my plan. I have some ideas for a third encounter. Those big hits every round HURT though. Link to comment

Find that bracer of summoning and you can have a low level mob on tap to do this little trick. I'd personally like to see rage changed to give an enhanced affect if the berserker kills a player owned charmie. " As the enemy falls, you feel your lust for battle invigorated! This has always been my fear with zerks, getting caught fighting charmies while raged. I always thought swing was better but seems he was only hitting maybe once a round with swing damage. @LlothWould getting swing to %110 make any difference? I think the Alsatian or stone golem trick might die earlier and actually allow me to flee. They usually saved me in the past Lecitus Link to comment

Tbh I'd like to see lvl 50's get turned down to buy pets from shops. Tactics like that should be healing frowned upon not encouraged. -Dale Link to comment

" 30hp heal or something Because zerks need a hand against rangers.... As Lecitus pointed out, there are glaring weaknesses in the strategy. It's best to combine the bracer of summoning and a low level pet. The low level pet is for dropping them out of rage. Order it to sleep, or leave it behind a closed door. When you need to threaten their HP (pretty hurt/awful), wake it up so they lose a chunk of HP suddenly AND have a much lower success rate on class skills. Use the level 50 charmie to tank them while they're raged. I wouldn't use the crab against a FG zerk, though. Its defenses suck, and it's 8 levels lower. Crab is a really good go-to for mop-ups and skirmishes, but high hp does not a pet tank make. Instead, consider a mob that will seriously punish a FG: The Grand Mistress. Face it, a crab bash is worse than a warlock bash, and a warlock bash is still bad against a FG. So why even use it? The Mistress will cast spells. Some of them mental, some of them ice. Harder to get and maintain, sure, but definitely worth the effort. She even has built-in sanc. And only a tiny bit less hp than the crab on average. Take care, she can see invis, and can't be summoned if separated. If you don't like casting mobs, and want a mob with just more oomf, defense, offense, and chest hair, consider Travl. Very hard to charm, given that he's a dwarf, but uh.. dem numbers. Does everything the crab does, but better. So to sum up: Gigantic Crab is a bad charmie choice for a giant zerker. Plenty of better options. Pick your poison. Link to comment
