Just a friendly duel with a good buddy of Aegreus. Aegreus had been doing better than normal PK wise for the past few days; Karakos turned out to be the paper to his rock, and proceed to rock his world. Glad we finally got to have that duel, but sheesh. That was the most helpless fight Aegreus has had to date. I had an axe that I might have had better luck with as far as getting a few shots to land. Oh well; always fun to spar with a friend, even if it's painful, lol. Basic attacks landed: 0/53 Pommel smashes landed: 4/5 Praetorian styles landed: 1/2 Armored rushs landed: 1/1 And 1 Impale into a water room, to see if it'd help. Anonymous Posted August 13, 2020 Author Report Share Posted August 13, 2020 A few things to think about: - I would probably use an axe or a flail in this case, not a mace. Even a staff would serve you better than a mace here, because you'd at least be blocking more of my hits. - Based on your gear, I'm guessing you have between 40-50 HR (not including the buff from berserk). I would definitely recommend upping that a bit further if you are going to try to use weapons that I do know (such as if your holy weapon is something in my repertoire). - I can't recommend enough experimenting with adding more hitgain to your arsenal and using pommel smash for attrition purposes. Make sure you use the weapon modifications that allow you to add it for hitgain, not hp. A weapon that bleeds will help with this to make sure that I can't match your regen. - If you don't have blind fighting, the number one rule is for you to always flee when blind. - If you have whichever crusader skill gives you high/low, I would experiment with using that to adjust your offense and defense as needed. If we are both fighting at low, that's a -10% chance for both of us to hit right off the bat. The difference is that my hitroll is substantially higher. - Finally, as you can see from the critical strikes, I have substantial proficiency in your race. As a melee against another melee that can play shaman against you, this is going to be an uphill fight. Really good fight and I love having you as an ally and friend. Always a pleasure, Big Bear! I should have kept the axe on that I had when we met up. I figured I would be fighting blind most of the engagement(I assumed you could hit eyes on giant). You're definitely right about the hitroll: I've started tweaking things to swap some of my dam for hit. You are spot on with your educated guess on my hit; I believe, with full buffs up(bless/berserk, lol) I'm at 52-54, or something like that. -Aegreus Link to comment

Your light, moonstone pendant, lunar crown, green bracers all have non-rare slots that can give you about +12 more hit. I'd swap that light for one of the banners, the crown you can swap for a breathing device (+2/+2), moonstone pendant for rusty pendant (+3 hit), green bracers for diamond-studded bracelets from dart game (+3 hit each, non-rare). That's +13 hit you can swap out for fighting melees and only one thing is rare (banner). Link to comment

That return damage wouldn’t be a big deal if Aegreus were winning his rounds, but as was said above he made a few tactical errors. Link to comment
