Ialantha and Alexzandra

A log of Ialantha having a brief discussiong with Alexzandra. I liked this interaction, because rarely do good-aligned characters come into conflict with each other.

A Sparkling Pond
The cold, refreshing waters of the shallow stream collect into a
small pond. White & pink water lilies drift dreamily atop the
halcyon surface of the lakelet. The fragrance of these many-
petaled blooms mingles with the soft breath of a gentle breeze
which casts faint ripples upon the azure waters. The ancient
trees of the grove encircle the pond in an enchanted seclusion
like guardians of nature.

[Exits: north east south west]
(Charmed) (White Aura) the Blood Guard is sleeping here.
(White Aura) Alexzandra the Candid, Stalwart Defender of Val Miran is here, sitting astride a white charger.
An elegant swan glides atop the sparkling pond.

Alexzandra glares icily at you, you feel cold to your bones.

Alexzandra:
A regal looking armored maiden stands here enveloped in a golden halo.
She is young looking, surely below her twentieth birthday.  With clear green
eyes and shoulder length blond hair.  She is slender, appearing quite
dextrous and agile.  She wears a long blue dress covered in armor plates.
The dresses is of a light blue fabric decorated with embroidered golden
lines along the sleeves and at the dress edges.  It is quite long, covering
down to the maidens feet.  A sizable armor breast plate covers the maidens
chest over the dress, bulging outside as a small hunchback.  Long armor
scales run down along both the left and the right side of the dress skirt,
protecting the maidens legs.  Long fully articulated armor gauntlets cover
the maidens hands, extending right up to the elbow.  And under the long
skirt, one can notice the front tip of a pair of armored boots.  The maiden
wields with both hands a great sword with a thick blade.  The sword hilt is
all golden with blue marking, with a grip covered in a blue wrapping and a
golden cross-guard.  The blade is long and glows with an ember red light,
emanating waves of furnace hot heat.
She has travelled quite a lot.
Alexzandra is in excellent condition.

Alexzandra says 'Strange place for a Knight-.'

Ialantha offers a polite nod and an accompanying smile -- a tired, weary, warworn smile.

You say 'This is my home.'

Alexzandra says 'We heard the reports of your location.'

You say 'I am certain you did.'

Alexzandra says 'An Adjudicator is sure to come shortly to capture you.'

You say 'I am sure one is.'

You say 'For what crime? Trying to retake my banner, which you stole.'

Alexzandra says 'Assault in the Palace.'

Alexzandra says 'Obstruction of a Council menber.'

Alexzandra says 'I fear that you will surely be executed.'

You say 'Obstruction of a Council member? Yourself, you mean?'

You say 'After you attacked me?'

Alexzandra nods.

Alexzandra says 'Yes. It's against the law to attack a Tribunal in Val Miran.'

There is a forlorn tone in Ialantha's voice. 'I see.'

Alexzandra says 'Perhaps you wish to surrender.'

You say 'My duty to the Castle forbids it.'

Alexzandra says 'How can you side with such a treacherous Lady?'

You say 'As your duty to the Tribune has set us all upon this path.'

Alexzandra says 'My duty to Val Miran.'

Ialantha shakes her head firmly. 'I do not side with her, ma'am. I side with the Castle.'

Alexzandra says 'Yet the castle invades Val Miran.'

You say 'I can not pick and choose my brothers in arms. We are all sworn to the same cause. A righteous cause.'

You say 'I wish it was not so. Truly.'

Alexzandra says 'I wish I could believe it.'

Softly, Ialantha says, 'I wish you could, too.'

Alexzandra says 'But the Knight actions always bring more armies inside our walls.'

You say 'To fight the undead.'

Alexzandra says 'The undead army is to the west.'

Alexzandra says 'Yet, you chose to siege our hall.'

Alexzandra says 'You the Knights.'

You say 'I am not sure why that decision was made.'

Alexzandra says 'Your companion has been captured. Surrender yourself. Perhaps ...'

Alexzandra says 'You are wanted for 15 days, due to your attrocity of assault.'

You say 'I am aware, ma'am.'

Alexzandra says 'There is no hope of avoiding an execution.'

You say 'I had no choice; your fellow men had taken our banner.'

Alexzandra says 'We are at war.'

You nod.

You say 'I am aware.'

Alexzandra grabs for your throat with two hands, howling in frustration!

Alexzandra mutters something quietly to herself.

Ialantha makes no effort to defend herself, staring into the Dame's eyes.

Alexzandra says 'Donovan is near.'

You say 'I am aware.'

Alexzandra says 'You need not suffer.'

You say 'I am no stranger to suffering, ma'am.'

Alexzandra says 'So be it.'

You say 'The threat of pain will not sway me from my path.'

Alexzandra says 'It is futile to try to rescue your friend.'

Alexzandra says 'It is done.'

You nod.

Alexzandra says 'Aidon lives no more.'

You say 'It is not the first time I have seen comrades die on the field.'

Alexzandra says 'It will not be the last.'

You say 'Truly, it is the fate of a soldier. To die next to your friends, or see them buried.'

Ialantha nods at Alexzandra, a soft smile passing over her lips. 'Truer words have never been spoken.'

Alexzandra says 'Why won't the Knights overtake the Undead?'

You say 'I wish I knew. They should. -We- should.'

You say 'However, the undead have flooded the ranks of the Tribune.'

Alexzandra says 'I ask myself that question many times.'

Alexzandra says 'Only Syyva and Donovan.'

You say 'And then there is that vile construct, fashioned from glass and tubes and foul magics.'

You say 'It is not natural, and it is not good.'

Alexzandra says 'Although he does not lives, he hasn't the gift of unlife.'

'Do you not see their evil?' Ialantha tilts her head slightly, her gaze locking with Alexzandra's own.

Alexzandra says 'He defends Val Miran.'

You say 'And yet Val Miran would be better off if he was destroyed. If they all were.'

Alexzandra says 'Would we doom the city just because we dislike our allies?'

You say 'You invite corruption and wickedness to your very doorstep.'

Alexzandra says 'Captured by the Feral, Ratmen or worse, the undead?'

Alexzandra says 'He protects the city, while the Knights strike at it.'

You say 'Precisely - worse!, the undead. Donovan. Syyva.'

Alexzandra says 'I'm not your Lady, to place my hate for undead above the protection of Val Miran.'

'My concern is..' Ialantha turns her head to look towards the northern horizon, a drawn-out sigh wheezing past her lips. '..this war is a needless distraction from the true enemy: the Nexus.'

Alexzandra says 'You are correct, but not in the true enemy.'

You say 'And who do you say is the true enemy?'

Alexzandra says 'There is a puppetmaster behind all this.'

You say 'Oh? And who would that be?'

Alexzandra says 'If only I knew.'

Alexzandra says 'Have you seen the demon gates?'

You nod.

You say 'They cause me grave concern. They threaten to unravel reality.'

Alexzandra says 'Or how the Feral invaded us, and quietly Duke Cervall took Miruvhor?'

Donovan flies in.
The Blood Guard floats in.
Travl floats in.

The Blood Guard yells 'Ialantha is a criminal!  Justice shall prevail!'
The Blood Guard seems to change in size and shape to match yours.
You parry the Blood Guard's attack.
The Blood Guard's slash wounds you.
You parry the Blood Guard's attack.
Your slice decimates the Blood Guard!
Your smash decimates the Blood Guard!
Your slice devastates the Blood Guard!
You dodge the Blood Guard's attack.
You parry the Blood Guard's attack.
You yell 'Help! I am being attacked by Donovan!'
You parry Donovan's attack.
Donovan's kiss of death devastates you!
A slow throbbing sound sends shivers down your spine.
The vile weapon feeds on your very soul!
You lose 3 experience!
Donovan's crush maims you!
The Blood Guard has a few scratches.

You evade Donovan's bash, causing him to fall flat on his face.
Donovan's bash misses you.
The Blood Guard has a few scratches.

You flee from combat!
