Lol. Prime example of how absurdly busted shield lore + the mal edge is. You failed so many saves and not a single mal to stifle any of that regen, so I soak 100-250 damage a round with passive shield disarms, passive disarms x2, one of which lags, lag through prot shield, and half the time its doing vuln level damage, and I have no way to combat dirt flee sleep. I really hope this edge gets changed to impact duration of mals only. I cannot believe it is actually -10 spell level for plague poison and dysentary. 

Fun fight all the same, highlights how little playtime I have had in the last several weeks. So many awful mistakes and double macro presses on my end. I bound summon you to me rewield macro and at one point summoned you with no weapon on. Ah, the joy.

I mean you log 6 to 10 hours a day. All im signing up for are these same results unless something is adjusted. Not being able to impact your regen at all is why i lost here. The pk was fun, but -13 to plague and poison level isnt even close to fair for many classes. God help the poor shaman who tries lol. Without a way to interact with your regen its really pointless

From what I can tell, there were only two plague/poison (unclear which) attempts here. I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say two failed attempts is a substantive enough sample size to make a balance decision. Notwithstanding the fact that even if you had landed a plague/poison, it would not have been difficult for the Warmaster to cure them.

Your biggest downfall here had nothing to do with his regen; it was the fact that you were wielding a disarmable weapon against a character that can autodisarm, and were therefore taking rounds of lag AND damage that you didn't need to be taking.

All of that said, we will obviously continue to evaluate the balance interaction here. But I am a firm believer that in order to make sound balance decisions, we need to look at the big picture -- and this log is not a good representation thereof. Neither removing the shield lore anti-spell bonuses nor the strong flesh edge would have made a critical difference, in my opinion.

Never went against a Warmaster without a noremove weapon and shield, to do so against any proficient player is folly.

Wait till he uses dagger form, you'll be in even more trouble.

Looks like chronoshield capped out? Temporum is much better at playing that regen attrition game, ogres and undeads suffer greatly against temporal storm.

there are several times in this log where he heals close to 100 a round standing, or 250+ sleeping. Having mals to threaten that regen changes the tempo of the fight. A cleric is designed to wittle away at people, mals from path being a primary source of that attrition. Hit a mal, catch a tick or two. But in this pk I will never be able to leisurely catch a tick or two because it is basically impossible that his regen will ever suffer because of any mal I can impact him with. This means that my 1100 man is better spent waiting for minister, and heals than bothering with path, the lag combined with execute into flee murder means i hit him for 100, get hit with 2 rounds in return, then at risk for him chasing with murder, or another flee murder. 

This log also does an excellent job showing off that pvp wands have a place. Not being able to punish his regen, I have to be able to punish him being greedy in a few places. Having at best oblits from path, this means I have no source of surprise damage to go to. Both of these changes took place while I was fighting Karakos. Wand of wind and spike of orbital storms both caught a nerf. The game routinely creates scenarios where mages get shorted without much reasoning. That RP edge existing as -10 spell level for staple class mals is insane to me, and I really dont even know how to approach arguing my position that a static -13 level reduction is wildly out of balance.

If we made it easy to completely nullify ogre regeneration, do you think people would play ogres? You were vastly outdamaging him throughout the course of the fight, and it was only when you played it too close that he was able to turn things around with some burst damage and a poorly timed path, to land the kill. Most of the fight, he was under 25% hp. A higher level weapon with an ember in it, and you could land a flame blind to give yourself some space AND possibly snag an unsanced path on him for extra damage.

Again, the two attempts your path made at casting mals at him (if there was no "you momentarily feel ill" message, there was no attempted cast; path does not attempt those mals on every cast) failed, yes. But if you had landed one or both of them, it still would only have put his regeneration out of commission for as long as it took to use some consumables.

And I'm sorry, but if your argument is that "PVP wands need to come back so that I can do MORE than an Obliterate each round" then... well, I hate to break it to you, but that's exactly the reason they got nerfed in the first place. It's quite insane that they can (much less should) do that much damage, with no counter, no warning, and no predictability for your opponent. That's literally why they got nerfed.

Finally, I agree with Chief -- tt looks like your chronoshield capped out, which is when you started taking significantly higher damage. Reversing chronoshield too many times in a row is a dangerous pastime.

I can't fathom how that's the case, since his vuln sword went from hitting in the range of decimates-MUTILATES (and never above a lacerate) to consistent LACERATES-DISMEMBERS.

That said, either you had a capped chronoshield or another key buff fell (and it wasn't sanctuary, by the look of it).
