CLASSES

  • WARRIOR
    • Weight distribution of bonuses from shields now more accurately reflect the original design.
      • Lighter shields are more "accurate" (better chance to land) while heavier shields are more "powerful" (will do more damage).
    • Auxiliary affects (crush, silence, etc.) from both manual and auto shieldbash now have a "chance" to land within their case.
      • Chance to land an affect correlates to chance to shield bash, i.e. lighter shields are more likely to cause the "bonus" affects.
    • Werebeasts are now allowed to choose this class.
  • PALADIN
    • Mounted charge will now have a chance to bypass counter.
  • CRUSADER
    • The Psalm of Final Parting will no longer be activated by NPCs.
  • BLADEMASTER
    • Hitting someone's "spleen" with critical strike now tells both parties that the victim is drained.
    • Humans can once again be blademasters.
  • NINJAS/THIEVES
    • Ninjas and thieves are no longer selectable as preparation for a class overhaul.
  • NECROMANCER
    • Mana leak now has a save chance comparable to Brittleness and Infernal Link.
    • Mana leak will now drain 150% of an opponent's per-tick mana regen, down from 300%.
    • All three necromancer signature spells will cast at an increased spell level when under the effects of soul tap and in combination with proficiency > 100%
  • ADVENTURER
    • Can use gain convert
  • DRUID
    • Stone giants and slith can join the ranks of the druids.

    • Ferals will be accepted as monks.

RACES

  • FROST GIANTS

  • DROW
    • Drow with the "Spider Summoning" spell will now lead their spiders in battle, granting them credit when a kill is made by the spiders.
  • WOOD ELVES
    • New race.  Can be warriors, rangers and druids.

CABALS

  • [TRIBUNAL]
    • Veterans in Tribunal may now join the COUNCIL Subcabal.
    • Veteran-rank COUNCIL members gain access to the Watchtower skill.
    • The Tribunal Maxim has been updated to reflect that COUNCIL members must be of at least Trusted rank to create a law and that law must be approved by the patron immortal of the cabal before taking effect.
  • [WATCHER]
    • Bards may no longer join the STALKER subcabal as a default option. We may, in the future, allow non-powerchord bards to join STALKER via application.
  • [MERCHANT]
    • Merchants may now send notes to "all".
  • [WARMASTER]
    • Weapons sharpened by the Gladiator Elder skill will now lose their "sharpened" bonus when touched by a non-Elder Gladiator. (Similar to psienhance items picked up by non Psionicists)
    • The Warmaster Titan's vast combat training has been forgotten, and he has been relegated to the same abilities held by other cabal guards.
    • Weapon damage calculations updated to better reflect standard damage calcs, including diminishing returns and damage caps.
    • Warmaster equipment progs have been toned significantly to ensure that simply wearing the armor doesn't substantially worsen or negate the ability of certain classes to be competitive in cabal warfare.
      • The Ephemeral Scabbard no longer grants pass door at random.
      • The Inner Fire no longer casts refresh on use.
      • The Eye of the Manticore (and the accompanying set) no longer does cure blind, cure disease, or cure serious.
    • Barbarian Trophies will now grant access to the Warmaster equipment progs for the correlating slots (i.e. hair = Inner Fire, eyes = Eye of Manticore) for now. FULL DISCLOSURE: This may change when we adjust trophies during the cabal EQ rebalance.
    • The Warforged Shortbow no longer has a 50% higher fire rate than it is supposed to.

  • [CHURCH]
    • Purchasable Church gear now has the "psienhance" flag to prevent -45AC chest pieces.
    • The CHURCH cabal now offers a little bit more information on how to upgrade items.

GENERAL

  • Added a dexterity check to the dodge skill, improving dodge functionality for high dexterity combatants against lower dexterity combatants.
  • Trees and mineral veins will now seed in the same manner as starstone and Crusader obelisks, allowing them to populate more abundantly.
  • You may now "replay" newbie chat to go back and review useful information/things you might have missed.
  • Entering "description <argument>" will no longer change your description to <argument>. 😂
  • Changes made to the way UMIN, UMAX, and URANGE evaluate certain variables, ensuring accurate calculations for those uses.
  • The outfit command will work for all characters through level 15.
  • The stat roller has been removed from character creation.
  • All characters begin with max stats for their race/class combo.
  • All characters begin with one train, down from three.
  • Qclasses that return the character to Level 1 will no longer lose stats on remort.
  • A number of quests have had their rewards adjusted to whittle down the surplus of trains, practices, and permanent stats granted.
  • Moderate Tier no longer lose the newbie channel when they level past 15.
  • Moderate Tier no longer has rare limits.

OLC

  • The Kringlewitz Toy Factory has been closed for the season. But you better watch out -- Kristoph Kringlewitz will be watching to make sure no one is naughty this year.
  • The Arctron has had its level reduced -- it will still be treated as a level 60 item balance-wise, but it will no longer land paralyze quite so often/easily.
  • The Miruvhor stablemaster will now offer mounts at the same duration as his counterparts in Val Miran and Maelbrim (I thought I had fixed this a while ago, per a bug report, but apparently did not).
  • The Mask of Ultimate Evil now more closely reflects its align-restricted counterparts in terms of availability.
  • Killing Order will now offer an appropriate reward, given the time/difficulty required to complete the task.
  • The ivory staff is no longer held by a good-aligned mob and is therefore no longer requestable.
  • The direction scrolls for the newbie quest line have been brought into the modern age where neither "Rhedin" nor Rheydin exist.
  • The hunt for the Crown of Chaos may now be relived through the eyes of the KNIGHTS that led the charge, as players enter the Broken Well of Oblivion and face down some of Aabahran's darkest history.
  • The belt of reserves (necromancer) and boots of conduction (invoker) have been updated.
  • The blazing bardiche is now made of fire.
  • Light's Reach has made landfall in the Dragon's Teeth Mountains and the military staging site known as The Front has been established. The invasion of the Great Wall of Aabahran continues -- heroes may proceed with more quests and opportunities to take up arms in defense of the Wall... and the world.
  • Updates to the Q2 questline including...
    • Plucking an unbent, unbroken feather will no longer be quite so infuriating
    • Tomes may now be read in places where questions that reference them are asked
    • Torments and Wraiths will no longer be quite so overwhelming in numbers and were slightly toned down in power
    • The unempowered necklace will now correctly be removed from the owner's inventory and replaced with the empowered version
    • Thrasios will no longer be quite so chatty if you leave and re-enter the room while [redacted] is still there
  • Smoke rises southwest of Val Miran, and the scent of burnt flesh is thick in the air. The Troll Village has erupted in fire and blood (and had its equipment rebalanced), but what could be responsible for this wanton destruction?

BUG FIXES

  • Auto Shieldbash will no longer accidentally kill mercied victims (including both challenges and contracts).

  • Powerword fear will now correctly apply its duration, with a racial bonus for drow as intended.
