I'm simply content to let this stay as it is. Theory and nothing more. No point in continuing this rehashing.
I've gotten a few kills so far but I haven't looted anything. I'd hate to be left with nothing after a death. I put a lot of time into this game and for someone to just erase A LOT of that time...it's time that could be spent playing video games that don't have that in them or time spent doing anything else.
Don't get me wrong I don't expect to just be given a full set of great armor and it's mine forever...but for someone to get off on making other peoples' time miserable, that's just f'd up.
Doing what's been done to you in the past on other characters is horrible OOC abuse.
I've been full looted a few times. (as in everything was taken).
Once was for attitude.
The other times were mostly a vet going 'seriously, stop coming at me like this, go gather gear so I don't have to three round you again.'.
And 90% of the time when I've kept it in character and asked using RP why my stuff was taken, I was given an adequate response.
I understand why it is there, I understand it can be abused by vindictive people. But I guess at the end of the day it's a personal choice and smurf is the way to roll if it is something you truly dislike.

Just to point out, you can be defiant without being insulting. In fact it's not extremely hard to do. Unless you let the competitive side take over completely then it's safe to do this, and if you are playing for fun that shouldn't ever be a worry.
I'll be honest back when I started playing I was terrible at pk and I sure as hell got full-looted a lot. Then I got a bit better and so it was my turn to full-loot every time I got a kill. Eventually I realized that being an asshat leads others to be asshats. After that defining epiphany I learned to take bags, all bags always, maybe sacrifice a weapon or two, and take the best piece of gear or two that I saw. Sort of makes you feel all warm inside knowing you didn't **** on someone else's day just because you got the kill and they didn't.
Three things to remember here for the newer player:
Moderate tier
"Outfit" command for players who are part of a cabal
Storage lockers
Use these things to help you get back on your feet fast.

And we wonder why there is such a small player base and why certain people can play all day and others cannot.
I don't think we need to wonder why these things are. Our pk atmosphere worked the way it has for years haha. Its also the very reason we enjoy coming here from day to day. For the fear and excitement of possibly losing it all. Makes everything feel so much more real. If you have so many negative things to say about the game than why not easily move onto a mud where theirs a larger playerbase and you get more of the things that you want? I think its because you find more benefit to what this mud offers than most. It just sucks right now to be on the receiving end more often than not.

I completely agree with Tassin. Fighting with nothing to lose is boring. The reason people get the shakes and get that adrenaline going is because you put so much into your character. When I play Call of Duty, I don't get that rush. Why? Because I have nothing to lose in that game. Run and gun. FL offers the opportunity to build a character and see it through. From the good and the bad. RP is real and lots of people do it. I experience great RP every single time I log on. If you're missing out, maybe something is wrong with YOU.
And in Tassin's defense, he does RP. Search his delete threads and you'll find yourself quite a few characters that were/are pretty known.

I have been all for taking away life insurance. Do I use it? Of course. Its available. Why would I not use it? Because my opposition can't/doesn't? That's their problem.
If you don't like losing your stuff, become moderate. The Staff has given the PBase a multitude of options to counter act full looting. It's YOUR fault if you don't use them. This argument is getting pointless. Every time someone does and loses their **** a thread is created whining about it.
Losers are going to whine, bitch, and moan about how unfair it is. You think the people that are good at PK started like that out of the gate? No. Me being slapped around by Despiser, Lay-About, Festorvian, and Celerity taught me how to live. You didn't even go back to your corpse when you died then. Instead, you slept at your pit till full hp, ran to the golems/red dragon to grab some basic crap and try to climb back up.
But then again, ganging or "tagging" wasn't frowned upon so highly. You can't beat Cariousus by yourself? Get another person. You two can't do it? Get another person. You finally killed Cariousus. Split his crap up, take his standard and hope to God he doesn't take out the newbiest of the three of you that got his weapon.
Greatest moments of my FL career were dying as Thandaeus and just grabbing basic crap and coming back to win. This whole 1vs1, please don't take my things when you beat me, but I'm still going to spit and talk garbage because I want to be a "badass hero" nonsense is what gets you full looted.
So sick of this topic. Every damn week when someone dies. Get over it or don't play. Does it suck? HELL YEAH IT SUCKS. But compare the loss of that eq to the hours you spent getting to 50, getting caballed, and getting to where you are. Equipment in this game is so retarded easy to get now its ridiculous. I could go anywhere with Zanzurok with little effort. The mobs need to be made WAY harder. Gear used to take 4-5 people to complete. Now it takes a 2.

I am completely against life insurance, it takes away the thrill of fighting.When I am insured, I made stupid mistakes and die 
I think that LI is good, it makes it fair so that ur cabal enemies don't sac all your things, and leave you naked. I should start using it. LOL. oh and by the way. Tassin's RP is AWESOME with all his chars. I actually think he's one of the better RP'ers on this mud. Just saying.

How would you enforce this idea? People are always going to say they don't do something to avoid being viewed differently. But they will do it anyways. The best way to get past this whole full loot crap is to just accept it. It's going to happen. You can't change it.
I'm just talking about utopia really, so I don't know. No system is perfect, there will always be people to complain about something. Just adding my two cents on the subject 
Someone said before, it all boils down to leading by example. If you hate full looting, don't do it. Even if it gets done to you, be above it.
As far as people trying to be something they aren't, shame on them for being fake and dishonorable as human beings.
