Looting

I think too many people get wrapped up in this honor thing. It's a game. I think " You have no honor " is the most thrown around insult in the game. What does it mean? Basically: You ganged me or did something I think is trashy. It's such a ridiculous statement. Especially when you talk to certain characters that clearly don't have any or SHOULDN'T have any.

I mean personal honor, sorry. Dignity. Tact. Integrity.

People who try to portray themselves as caring, honorable people on the forum but only play this game to full loot others while never risking their own things but then come on here to say how risking their things is the most exciting part of the game and so everyone else should just be quiet when they get full looted - it just doesn't sit right with me I guess.

I can't remember the last time I used Life Insurance.

Meeeh.

I'm not above using it, but then again, I'm not going around full looting people either. I'm all for protecting my things against someone who would do that.

So then do it. I find it ironic that people who are supremely against life insurance are generally the people who use it, and full loot people if they win (while using it).

For me, it takes all the fun out of the game. I can't even begin to count how many people I've killed that have had life insurance, and get a tell later, "I used life insurance because I know you'd full loot me."

Just doesn't make the game interesting. (And those people don't log on anymore either, after sifting through thousands of cabal points.) Whatdya know...

Three things to remember here for the newer player:

  1. Moderate tier

  2. "Outfit" command for players who are part of a cabal

  3. Storage lockers

Use these things to help you get back on your feet fast.

Very interesting. How do you use storage lockers?

I am not against life insurance. I'm against people being hypocrites.

Help Locker. I haven't used Life Insurance since probably 2007 which was the last time I was decently decked on a character. If I'm fighting an opponent who's overly strong and I win, depending on what I'm wearing and what they are I might loot most of it. Otherwise it depends on what they're wearing and if they're a low HP class and have a bunch of +hp items I'll loot those first unless I need them. If they've got a few items that I need I'll take those. If however the items I'm using are about the same as to what they're using I'll take their gold unless it's under 10k. Otherwise for the most part I don't loot unless I have to which usually means if you're the one who attacked me first the rules before still apply but if you piss me off in the process by doing/saying something I'll probably take a little more such as weapons and some defenses.

I rarely ever take anybody's bag, but that's because I know if my bag was taken I'd be a lot more pissed off than if someone took my weapon. I can attain the weapon in a lot faster time than what was in my bags usually.

Smh... same old same old. You know what makes it real? RP. Try it out.

Second.

Here is my. Stop caring about gear. Your obviously cabaled, outfit is all you need to win with every log of Azzar in the pk logs section is in a cabal outfit or a basic equip suit. Excepyt the ones with grylok. No amount of gear compensates for the years of experience ee vets hae. Dedicate yourself to learning from every fight. soon you will see gear is an issue only to those who make it one.

Life insurance? Hah! I never use it...

Using life insurance is an admission that you expect to die...

...and I never expect to die.

All things considered though, while life-insurance can be a huge waste of CPs, it can be a very good (cheap) precaution to bind your sturdy backpack (especially as a melee) if you expect to die.

I'd wager that most deaths (beyond beginners) are the result of either lag or regen attrition, with the remaining cases likely falling under the 'extreme burst damage' banner.

While CPs aren't very useful for preventing lag, they might be better invested in counters for regen attrition than in life insurance.

A class that can both lag and cut your regen has excellent finishing power. The reverse is also true.

Hence why I always like to dabble in necromancy

QFT just doesn't do this gem justice.

I know it has been said before, but:

MODERATE TIER

or Smurf, as I prefer.

Playing a Smurf can be a lot more fun, and extremely liberating.

And don't think it's only for Newbies, I'm a vet and I play Smurf half the times.

And it's just great when you PK someone in a full suit with a Smurf.

I can at least partially imagine the frustration when you do that.

Smurfs really are not gimped. You spend time exploring, and identifying items, and you will see that you cant hit "god suit" numbers (60/60 hit dam + 30 in saves) but you can get extremely good in either category. I had Kadrinath at 65/85 hit dam as a smurf.
