You should all just buy herbs from Fizzie. ;D Just sayin'...
Let's fix sheath doublesheath.
Instead of making it easier for people with two no-remove weapons, let's make it harder, the way it SHOULD be. You should NOT be able to sheath a no-remove weapon. You should NOT be able to hold something if you have a no-remove weapon and a no-remove shield.
Sorry, folks, Pali's on the right track here. You have it easy enough since you can already sheath no-remove weapons (HOW!? You can't have them removed from your hand, but you can sheath them and have a hand free? NO!)
If a weapon is cursed maybe it just means it cannot come off their body whether in hand or sheath. I know that noremove is just the flag name so I think "cursed" is open to interpretation from an RP point of view. Cursed weapons can also be disarmed magically, seems that cursed is not the greatest. Those who can get a true nodisarm also cannot sheath it.
'maybe it just means'...ok. From the beginning of time...well the beginning of RPGs, cursed means you can't unequip it normally. I mean really...that is what it's always meant, and I'm pretty sure that's what it meant when they were coding this game, or whatever game we based our current one off of.
One could argue a sheathed weapon is still equipped...I think cursed weapons can be sheathed for good reason, it would be hard to RP someone who never letting go of their weapon until they died.
That's like saying - Who are you to dictate that I should kick
Lol, except for the fact that dirt kicking is the only viable option for some classes to blind... If anything, the lore in FL would make sense for the argument stated in this thread. Unless, of course, you want to change the entire history of the concept that goes behind cursed weapons in aabahran like jibber suggests. Obviously it's important enough for the person who started the thread to bring up. It's selfish to get high and mighty on your alternatives. not selfishly "lazy" to state how something as logical as this mechanic should, in the aforementioned poster's opinion, be changed. It doesn't affect balance, it makes sense in all RP and pk aspects of the game, and it really is not that big of a deal.

I'm not following you on this one. A sheathed weapon is not equipped...hence it is 'sheathed'. That's like saying 'The helmet in my bag is equipped'. And it's not Hard to RP someone never letting go of their weapon until they die...that's hard coded into the game. Kind of like it's not hard to RP the 'demon face talismans' are not able to be removed. Because they are CURSED. CURSED items have to be UNCURSED if you want to take them off your body. That sir...is the logic and RP behind it.
Take a game like Elder Scrolls you have an inventory that holds multiple weapons, then the items on you that you have equipped. You can draw or sheath your weapon without unequipping it. In FL if you were to sheath and type Inventory you won't find that weapon in question, but you will find it sheathed when you type Equipment. That is how I see it, a sheath is part of the weapon and is equipped along with it. Like the cursed cloak, it cannot be removed but you can shift it's position on you (I know you cant actually move the cloak but it would still flap in the breeze).
Alright, you guys have convinced us. No more staves or dual wielding + fired weapons for melees it is.

INB4 THIS ISN'T ELDER SCROLLS

long story short:
equipped does not equal wielded.
Why do threads always turn out like this here? Are MUD players just a uniquely stubborn and opinionated breed?
Geeks are just a uniquely stubborn and opinionated breed
Fixed.
long story short:
equipped does not equal wielded.
Quite so. And what is the line you get when you try to remove a cursed weapon? "You can't let go of it." The argument could easily be made that cursed weapons should not be capable of being sheathed, as the weapon adheres to your hand. Remember, this is a CURSE - it is not a blessing. It is also very powerful mechanics-wise. There SHOULD be downsides.
Honestly, if a cursed shield in the off-hand allows use and a cursed weapon does not, I'd say we should fix it so that cursed shields don't allow use to maintain consistency - I would not argue in favor of lessening the downsides of using cursed items.
