Ah. A section of a log does not provide full details on the circumstances involved; it is not a good indicator of balance. A quick inspection shows that you were blind, wielding the worst defense type of weapon - which was disarmed regardless, and seemingly without sanctuary. That outcome is to be expected.
Suggestions:
- Attain a source of sanctuary that lasts longer than vials.
- Find a way to enlarge yourself.
- Keep potions of flight in stock.
- Prevent yourself from being slept. Poison will do.
- Increase your saves while keeping your hitroll and damageroll high
- Against a formidable army, you will want to wield a more defensive weapon.
- Having a nodisarm weapon would be helpful.
Malch already covered everything. You can't expect to destroy the latest model of USA's stealth tank with a stick and a stone do you?
Until you can get a better primary weapon, wield the battlemaster's blade. Swords have good defense. Dual the whip in your offhand. You're a Warrior I assume? Did you pick whiplock? Use it. You'll mess him up good if you have decent hit/dam.
My warrior Threkan would two round Icharaal(it was him, right?) the Syndi Elder using whiplock. 
Sandbox, I feel your pain I really do...but it seems like you're finding a lot of fault in the wrong places.
Even with major glitches in a game, always point to yourself first.
I learned to drive stick on an '86 Jeep CJ 7. The distance you have to let out the clutch from when it starts to grab to when it's fully engaged is about an inch! I must have stalled out 100 times before getting it right the first time and then 100 more after! I could have easily blamed it on the design of the vehicle, but I just analyzed what I could do better. Now I can pretty much drive anything.
I'm new here still...the first thing I do when someone ambushes me is turn on my logger (often before fleeing!). After I get steam rolled, I comb through the log several times to figure out where I screwed up. No matter the circumstance, if I die, it's MY fault. That's a great thing, man! After all, it's easier to fix my mistake than it is to convince someone else of one AND that they need to fix it.
I have the attitude that for the next few months (I don't think It'll be too much longer, as I've been doing much FL research my past 6-7 months here) I will completely and utterly get destroyed at Pinn with any character I make. If I have a really good RP ideas to which I wish to dedicate myself, in that I want these chars to be OP Awesomely Fantabulous PK DEITIES, then I will save them for when my skils are up to par.

Edit: Also, don't do like I do sometimes and get caught up on your lack of PK skills...This is also an RP enforced MUD and much fun and satisfaction can be had outside of PK.
i was in marak, practicing weaponlock and had to sleep a few ticks necro rolled up while i was asleep. That was the situation.
In other words, he got the drop on you because you weren't being cautious enough while you were training.
If someone gets the drop on you, most of the time you're going to end up dead. Paranoia is important in this game. "Where" and "who pk" are phrases I don't even think about typing anymore... my fingers do it habitually every few seconds if I'm playing actively, and I have them set every few casts apart in my spelltraining macros.
As soon as there is someone around who might be actively hunting you, practicing time is over anyway. If you have a bounty and the Syndi Leader logs on that is definitely not the time to train...

Hunting time's practically over, too, if you're the tank with no healer and someone might be a-comin.
People die in FL and instantly say something is overpowered or needs to be looked into. You were caught with your pants around your ankles by someone who is fairly decent at making entry through denim and you expected to do better? Gear up, if he looted, finish training and do work bro, don't get discouraged.
