Can Haymaker dispel trough manalock?
Can a zerk dispel with a Haymaker a BMG who has manalock active?
Zerks always sucked up until now, so never pked on as BMG.

Manalock is dispel protection. Not haymaker protection, so logic dictates that no, it does not protect against haymaker, nor it should. Other things might protect against it though, but I haven't played around enough BMG/zerks to speak for sure.
There are other methods to defend against a haymaker, manalock won't save you.

Why be vague? No qclass stuff here.
Ok then. If you aren't facing a path of anger zerk, use a burnproof shield and watch them shatter their hand on it. If you are facing a path of anger zerk, high AC tends to cause them to miss with it a good bit. Also if you can prevent them from raging by keeping their health in a low place where they want that option to flee, haymaker is inherently less effective than a raged haymaker.

It seems that if you don't have the shield block skill you can't block haymakers anymore, and rightly so.
Great change. Nothing frustrated me more than someone who could not block an attack from a 2 handed mace with a shield, but they can block a spur of the moment punch?

Didn't know that. Living and learning. My bad on the busted advice.
Not yours at all... should have been mentioned in the changes log...
And here I thought your advice would involve slow ![]()

Testify. Best post all week

I was more speaking from the berserker's side. Does slow ruin haymakers like it does charge, etc?
No idea, but it could. Not that a bmg would really want to bother with slow in most situations anyways.

I think it does... but I agree. It's terrible as an offensive spell in most cases - hard as hell to land and does nothing if saved against, 2 round casting lag, and it'll up their regen enough that the loss of melee power doesn't hurt too much. I could see it being useful against an already raged zerk depending on path, but otherwise...
I love it when a BMG slows some of my melees ![]()
I guess I am wondering if it completely turns off haymaker. I seem to recall being slowed on a pally and it being like "No charge for you"

IIRC slows stops berserkers being able to rage (like calm) - this indirectly affects haymaker. Between this and robbing them of attacks it really blunts a berserkers offense.
In my experience trying to fight a battlemage (as a berserker) while slowed was a futile affair. Without rage and down to possibly two attacks per round it's almost impossible to outdamage a battlemage. When slowed before I raged I would resort to dirt kick;flee;sleep every tick for the duration of the spell. The increased healing makes this easy and after three or four times of this battlemages get the message and stop it

Very interesting. I wasn't aware of slow stopping rage. Slow would actually be pretty damaging to the zerk's whole set essentially then. I could see the BMG having to alter tactics if he can't land meaningful damage against a regenerating, slowed zerker. It also makes for a potentially never ending stalemate which galls me personally, total affront to my brawl it out mentality.
Like Pali said, two round lag, very hard to land, and not really all that conducive to getting the kill
Ok... a successful slow would hamper a zerker a good bit. It would force him to adopt more passive strategies since he wouldn't have the passive bonuses rage grants to essentially every skill a berserker utilizes. It might not help the BMG kill the zerker, but it would really make it difficult for the zerker to kill the BMG as well.
