I still think it's trashy as hell to just be a jerk, and sit around saying stuff like "if you don't like it, I don't want to play with you anyways". No one likes being full-looted, or even partially. Especially by someone who doesn't need the stuff and is just doing it so next time it takes 2 rounds instead of 3 to kill that person. Just cause you feel you have "reason" to do it, doesn't mean you should.
Ahh, and as an added note. I think life-insurance being up should make the person with it not be able to loot at all. All it's used for is so people can stay shiny when they don't deserve to be. If you can't hold onto it without insurance, why do you deserve the gear at all?
To me Life Insurance is for when you are up against the odds. I wouldn't use it 1v1 unless I was sure I was gonna get steamrolled.
It is super expensive too, so using it all the time is not plausible for 95% of people in cabals.
I'm inclined to agree with Jibber....if and when I decide to full loot someone, which is very rare, my character most certainly has very good reasons for it. Last thing I want is you to come back to your corpse and start whining and spitting on me and all this crap. Maybe you should have thought about that before you ganged my cabalmate, or full looted him, or whatever other reason I am full looting you for. You being a douche which causes me to full loot you is your fault, not mine. You carrying on like a 5yr old child who just lost his bouncy ball only makes the kill that much more sweeter for me. You deserved what you had coming to you and watching you suffer just sweetens the pot.
And with the words "you" and "your" I -am- talking about your character. You the player control your character and the choices he makes. If you the player decides to make your character be a douche...whether you the player are a douche or not, my character is gonna treat your character like he IS a douche...and you will condie, naked. From deutschland with love.
You deserved what you had coming to you and watching you suffer just sweetens the pot.
THAT IS SO UNFAIR, whine whine, SO UNFAIR!!1!!
I just had to quit smokin pot, so mine NEVER EVER getting sweeter!
Well,... ummh,... i dont do PK alot, err,.. anyways!
I see no love, only hate.
It would help if people weren't so afraid of you, that they quit/log on their lowbies the moment you show up. Not trying to rub it in anyone's faces but when you have the urge to log out just because someone is logged on, you shouldn't be in the position you are in (it's usually a cabal enemy).
Seen this a lot lately. Not trying to judge, but why should these cabal Elders stick around if no one else will while they're logged on? It's ridiculous, just to have some fun, you have to roll another character because your cabal enemies are too lame to try and overcome you and/or RP with you..
/endrant.
You've never done this jibber? Come come now.
Imm Edit: Flame bait will not be tolerated, that goes for everyone. Next time I see it, this thread is closed.

Your friendly neighborhood demon.**
You've never done this jibber? Come come now.
Not sure what you said after, but I'm sure it wasn't very nice. The characters I had that was fighting you after that was Heuajru. I died continually to you.. constantly getting my *** reamed while you wore close to nothing and I was decked.
I quit off.. oh I dunno, 3 or 4 times. You should also remember that I stopped playing the character altogether too, since I couldn't stand the fury path on a berserker.
Now, as far as Nyra.. I never ran from you. I never logged off from you. I fought you and I fought you and I fought you. Hours on end. You won, I won, we both won. But we never ran from each other. If you care to place the doubt on one character of mine (who stopped playing shortly after) because he was an ogre versus a vampire, where you constantly steam rolled me (I ATTEMPTED TO FIGHT YOU. Got no where.) then I dunno what to say.
Anyway.. purge time limit is fine. IMHO. It's just worse this month since last month it got purged at the beginning, and have to wait till the middle of this month.
I find a huge problem with the whole rare system. Fact that some people have kept lots of rares out of circulation for over a year is awful IMO. There are plenty of people that use the system to keep their suits for months, with minimal play. Yet I'm sure they play other characters in the meantime. I honestly see that kind of action as a breach of OOC. People are OOC realizing that they only need to be on the game for a set amount of time to keep their suits. Isn't that as much OOC as logging off a character and onto another to pk someone?
Maybe there should be other stipulations on keeping gear, or a different way to set the amount of hours needed? Like if you have rares that there are less than 3 total of, your time increases exponentially? Or if someone has more than 1 player with over 5 rares, each character's time required increases?
All I know is that certain gear is literally impossible to get, because the people that have it log on, "stay safe" and log off each month to keep it. Which in itself is kind of pointless. I don't see the reason in being decked, if you aren't going to use it. I'd rather see someone roflstomp people with a decked suit for hours on end, than someone that never logs and when they do you get 1 glimpse of a decked person, then don't see them for another week or more.
I dunno, there is an obvious problem here. Especially since this thread has happened about a zillion times in the last couple years.
I'd like to point out that I was right about the person I mentioned earlier in this thread lol Haven't seen them since.
Another ones besides that one that logs on with his Adeptus, is no where to be found, and logs off. Multiple times a week, but still.
Another problem with a rare limit/pbase size like this is that Decked Person A and B may play in one time zone, and Decked Person C plays in another. Decked Person D is a hoarder. A and B are allies.
It's hard to really give good examples without naming names which isn't right to do though I don't think they need to be named.
Again, this isn't necessarily regarding every "decked" person that plays. Istendil, Anamus, Heiku, Jaspurr, Kellyk...these are a few decently/really decked people who play and PK....but I can name almost just as many who log on and do almost nothing to risk their gear and then log off. And they are some of the more extremely decked.
Like anything, it's hard to draw the line between what is fair to the people who can really only play x amount of hours and can't help it. Versus the people who can play but can't ever find the gear or fight the people they need to fight to get the gear....let alone even be geared well enough to fight the people with the extremely decked suits.
No simple solution
Well like I said, the system is just too flawed at this point in time. I mean maybe a purge would be best but there are problems with that as well.
If there would be a monitoring system of IPs, it could help a bit. Would be terrible to find out that Decked player A is also playing 3 other players that aren't decked and they care less about. Yet putting in minimum time on the Decked player just to keep the suit, that is just greedy and wrong. With a smaller pbase like we have now, I'm sure there is a way to monitor/record players from each IP, and most people would not buy a new IP to trick the system for this game. I mean if someone did, they really have more of a medical issue than anything else. Then the same system recording played time by each character. Then if you find that the Decked player has another player with 40 hours invested in a month, but they put in minimum time with decked player, you purge them.
Shoot, I think that's only fair to the players that do put in the time and want to and are willing to fight for it and to keep it. I have been repeatedly decked, and more than happy to fight to protect my gear. I've lost to players like Jibber and others with those suits and taken them right back. Isn't that how the game is supposed to be? PK/RP based? What happened to that part of it? Seems like for some players that it's log in to keep rares first, then RP sometimes, and PK never.
I'd rather just see an increase time requirement for high aggregate item level.
Basically if you aren't gonna use it, let the people who will have it. I had someone ask my character Tharnog while we were both logged in one day why I haven't bothered getting ANY eq at all...and I replied "Why bother? Not like I would use it." This guy was extremely decked and I've never seen him doing anything at all across 5 characters and 3 months. And all he said was "True"
Basically, if you are going to have a rare limit that makes a limited amount of people be able to have uber suits...those people need to be forced to put those uber suits at risk. Currently our system combined with the size of our pbase does not truly make that happens.
I cannot agree more with that. Some of my characters have been annoying like that to the "hoarders" as some would call them. Asking them for their equipment from time to time, and a lot of the times they are taken back at the fact that I'm being honest. I want that stuff so I can go use it to kill people. Why else would I want it?
I say if people have anything at certain amounts, like anything less than 5 total should increase time played exponentially. Each piece = an extra hour or 2. That way someone has a full suit of it, they gotta be on a long time, hence making it at risk much more often during the month. I know people have less time to play these days, but if you're gonna have it play with it, if not, roll a character that doesn't need it. Stop hoarding what others would use. Because obviously you don't need it if you are not gonna use it. And no, being safe for your minimum hours required per month is not using it. Using it is actively playing/pking.
If you don't put in the hours you need to play you will get purged, so if someone is just around to keep a rare from someone else they most likely will not put in enough hours and loose it next month.
Usually there are a lot of rares around after the purge. That it is not at the first day of the month now just means that you have to check more often.
If you manage your hours for cabal and rares it is up to your cabal imm to demote you or not if he thinks you are not around enough or not doing enough to earn your position.
To sum up: Think it is fine as it is. Hour limitation and imm cabal leader monitoring will resolve any real issues.
The point of many on this issue is that it is not hard at all to keep your rares without really doing anything. The purge limit is easy to get by with just playing one week a month. Or very, very little many times a month.
Your low level rares get circulated a lot more regularly than your high level rares. People that are super decked don't care about doubled plated leggings or any of those "common" rares. We're talking Adeptus suits and +spelllvl eq
Near the end of the month and I feel like calling some people out. One in particular who played a lot the first couple days of this month with all his uber rares and then hasn't been seen since.
You people need to do what is best for the game and either play your character and enhance the MUD with quality RP and PK...or give up your suits to the people who spend the time that you don't in FL.
It's sad to see an Elder of a cabal purposefully play only at the beginning of the cycle and then virtually never be seen again. Even sadder to see two super decked mortal enemy cabal elders that I've never witnessed fighting each other or even seen on at the same time, yet I do see one of them playing their other chars when the other is on.
Yes, I know it is boring to sit at 50 in your decked suits with hardly anyone online. But guess what? That is what we have. So either play it, or gtfo in my opinion. Start an RP plot, help people rank, do something. Don't hog the rares for the people who are willing to to log on and play this game with sub-10 people online and can barely even get a Warped Skull, let alone ever see adeptus armor or avg28+ weapons. Then you log on for a few minutes and kill them and full loot them and then don't play again for two weeks? It's pathetic and it makes me sick and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
My chars get decked and play crazy hours. I open myself up to risk because that is what this game is about. It's not about getting as decked as you can and then never dying, then acting like you've accomplished something. It's about challenge in RP, challenge in PK. Playing 5-10 hours in the first week of the month and then not playing again until the cycle starts over does not accomplish any of that. You think you are so great at this game? Die and start all over, try to rebuild what you have. Challenge yourself if the game isn't challenging you. I'll start fighting people without sanctuary just to spice things up a bit. I could care less if I die and lose it all, because I know a real player can get it back.
You don't have the time? Then don't play, don't rob from the other people who DO have the time. You don't have anything to do at 50? Well too bad. This is the game you've chosen to play, so play it or leave.

Cast 'Crumble Wall of Text'
What if, we just made some of those (Ultra) Rare eq you all want like Adeptus and turn them UNIQUE.
Then have a Unique Purge every two weeks.
That way, you can also up the rare count.
I like that idea. Make "super rares" Unique and have a seperate purge for Uniques only that is much higher, or even unavoidable.
Every month all Uniques get purged, no matter what.
Ideas:
All adeptus armor
All +spell lvl armor except from arena
All dischord/desolation armor
Barons Belt and Ice armor
Some things should not be unique like banner and crown and rings/bracelets mainly because they serve as the meat of your armor. A downside to wearing a full adeptus suit is that you will lose it at the end of the month. So maybe just one or two pieces that suit you should be all you wear unless u thin u can get it back at the end of the month every time.
Thats a good idea, if you want the mud to die
Catch 22. People stop playing because they can't get the EQ they need to get in order to compete because people like the one I knew earlier this month would hoarde his rares again keep them out of circulation.
So PersonA spends all his time getting subpar EQ because he can't get the really good stuff because Persons B, C, D, and E all have it. PersonB logs on at the beginning of the month for 10 hours and then doesn't play again. C plays in a very odd time zone and doesn't play often. D and E are cabal enemies but both do not play often at all and virtually never fight each other.
Seriously.
Adeptus fists face torso arms legs. Who has them? How often do you see them playing or PKing?
+spell lvl eq for evils. Who has them? How often do you see them fighting challenging PKs?
I could go on.
Again, this is not about me being selfish. As I have already proven time and time again, I get decked. This is about the countless people who all complain on the forum, in game, or wherever else about rares and inactive people.
They are right in their argument. Just because I am decked doesn't mean I can't see that they are right. What I CAN see is people's playtimes and they are not conducive to FL's balance. It also irks me that I risk my neck and my rares to PK/RP in this game as it should be done while they keep their suits and do little to nothing in/for the game. Maybe they did MONTHS ago, but for the past 2 or 3 months, they haven't.
Now now.
How often have you seen people fight Oppressant, Grum or however the decked person's name is?
The thing is that people will wine no matter what. If you want to get the EQ you have to kill the person who holds it. It is as simple as that. The problem here is that people want to get the EQ without killing the person. They want the system to get the EQ from the character and place it on the mob, because they can kill the mob, but they cannot kill the person.
Also, you made this a poll for a reason. Just look at the result. That speaks better than anything else.
