The guild of the Dark Knights have always relied upon the more offensive and
blood drawing implements in combat. After years of indignant defeats by
opponents wielding feeble twigs and sticks, the fed-up guildmasters concocted
a way to deal with the disadvantage. By uttering an incantation upon their
shields, they were able to significantly strengthen their defensive 
capabilities against less offensive weapons such as the staff.
