WOOD WOOD-ELF WOOD-ELVES W-ELF

HISTORY:
Nobody knows the exact reason the Elves split, as it was long before our
recorded history of Aabahran. A small caste of Elves had been sent into
exile from the ancient city of Shasarazade, known today as the Elven
Kingdom. Some obscure books tend to be conflicted within their own
Libraries and even the Great Library of Heralds. Some place the blame
squarely upon their desire to overthrow the High King as they sought the
help of the Drow. As it has been well documented, their deep distaste of
the Drow it seems a likely culprit if this indeed was true. A few other
notes seem to dispute this as being merely fiction in order for Bards across
Aabahran to sell their spoken stories by giving them more flare. These
separate ideas paint a different picture stating it was merely a difference
of opinion after spending decades in war with the Dwarves at the time before
eventually calling a truce.

As time has gone on, those who went into exile had split apart into smaller
groups to seek out success in various other parts of Aabahran. This has
given rise to very different appearing Elves over time, albeit they still
seem very similar in appearance, their beliefs have differed greatly over
such a vast amount of time. It is why the Elves have become known simply as
the Wood Elves as their lives are spent mainly in forests and well away from
most of their distant cousins. Over this time spent in these dwellings,
they have become more adept with nature at times and have adopted a sense of
yearning in some cases and even desires to only be within the embrace of the
woods. This in turn has made them quite neutral in their beliefs, choosing
neither the Light nor Dark that the harsh elements of Aabahran have been
known for.

Their tendencies to embrace Nature have also lead their beliefs to thrive
more upon chaotic or neutral ethos and in turn has left many forsaking the
law and those who swear to uphold it. This in turn has made them choose to
be more barbaric than their cousins by choosing more physical professions
like the Warriors and Rangers. Those who have chosen this lifestyle are
often seen more within the Watchers or even the Warmaster Encampments on
their life long journey to dominate those who oppose them. There are a few
who have also chosen to become far more devout in their beliefs, much like
their Elven cousins, to worship the forests and the life within. They tend
to become Druids, yearning for Her embrace when leaving the forest, and
feeling solace while within them. These members seldom stray from the
Watchers in their lives, but there have been some exceptions.

Hometown:
Val Miran, Maelbrim, Miruvhor

Religion:
Though most often they tend to worship Nature or War depending on their
chosen professions, it is not unheard of to see them worshiping other
Deities. Many often have chosen to trust their beliefs in the religions of
Chance, Knowledge, and even various forms of Faith.

Physical Features:
Wood Elves appear to be similar to those of normal Elves with few
differences. They tend to be a bit shorter, but with a wider build and more
muscular frames. They tend to be lighter skinned due to their time spent in
forests which some have covered up with mud to help them blend into their
surroundings easier. Their hair is often darker since their time spent in
forests keeps their hair from fading in direct sunlight unlike Elves. Much
like their cousins they too are burned at the touch of iron.

Society:
As there are many forests in Aabahran, many tend to stray far and wide.
Since they tend to disregard alignments unlike the Elves, they are even
welcome in Miruvhor. At this time there is no known centralized home to the
Wood Elves, but many can be found embracing Nature around many of the
cities, including some of the parks within them.

Relationships with Other Races:
Due to their ability to join parties with anyone, they often are accepting
of many others, including the Dwarves that caused their initial split from
the Elves. They do not hold a grudge against the Elven Kingdom nor any of
the descendants that had come after. They do not harbor a hate for the Drow
either as in their history they have been found conversing and planning
together in the Warmaster Encampments and when times it is required in war.

Wood Elves can be the following classes:
Warrior, Ranger, Druid, Thief, Ninja, Invoker, Battlemage, Bard, Blademaster
