Take up a trade.

Trades split two ways. Gathering trades collect raw materials. Crafting trades turn them into finished goods. You hold two at a time, a gather at level 30 and anything you want at level 40.

How it works

You hold two trades

The first slot has to be a gather and you take it at level 30. The second can be anything and you take it at level 40. Nothing before 30.

Swear to a trade

You learn a trade from its guild trainer with the apprentice command. It costs 100 coins and the trainer hands you the tools to start. You can abandon a trade to take up a new one, but no trainer will take you on for seven days.

Rank drives quality

Every trade carries a rank, 1 to 100. Rank is what drives quality, and you rank up by working the trade. Soft cap is 80 and hard cap is 100. Roleplay is what pushes you past the soft cap.

You need other players

You only hold two trades, so you can't make everything yourself. A fletcher needs a smith for arrowheads, an alchemist needs a herbalist for roots. The rest you get from other players.

Gathering five trades

These five collect the raw materials. Every craft needs them. Each card names the trainer and the area they work in.

Quality shows

Everything you gather or make has a quality grade, and it shows in the item's name. Higher rank gives better odds at the top grades. You can target one by grade too, like get fine sardine. Make something flawless and your maker's mark gets struck into it.
